History and Glass 3/19/2006

Many times in Southern NJ a class trip to Wheaton Village is forced upon you. If you have not gone back as an adult, please do. I have a newfound appreciation for American glass work now, I really enjoyed watching the glass makers work and I was so immersed in the exhibits in the museum that I lost track of time. many of the pieces were so intricate and breathtakingly beautiful, I had to stop and admire them twice! more

Wheaton Village 1/1/2006

The Wheaton Village IS A COOL place to visit, They have a lot of glass store where you can watch them handmake and blow bottles into shape. The villiage has a lot of cool little stores in a old village look with side walk sale's every Saturday! I love the Village cause it reminds me ofthe 1940 with all types of stores and cafes. more

All you wanted to know about glass 8/16/2005

Wheaton Village is a museum dedicated to the South Jersey industry of glass making. They have live demonstrations of glass blowing, a museum on the history of glass. There is also a gift shop with penny candy. Adults will be interested in the history and glass blowing, and children will love the penny candy, train and playground. Negatives are sometimes the village is crowded with school trips and the train is not always operational. more

Great Museum! 8/7/2005

Wheaton Village is definitely a great local trip to take. Full of little shops with a little bit of history in each one. Also candy shops for the kids. Visit the glasshouse and see the antiques sitting amongst the area! Visit the glass shop and see how glass is melted and molded into the items that we use today! Excellent place to take the children for an informational tour or even a great place to learn a few things yourself! more
