Pill Pusher! 11/14/2010

I actually went to this doctor because she was listed as a GYN. It was actually a wellness center and didn't take me much to convince me i need to loose weight. I should have run out the first day but I wanted to loose weight without effort, like when I did Weight Watchers. The first day I waited over an hour to see the dr, then the visit was a quick jamming of multiple pills, shakes, brochures and alli diet & receipe book, cost $125.00 for products (phentermine in tablet & capsule, diuretic pills & another pill) fiber powder shake & vitamin b shot injection. I did not get a prescription for pills, I was given all pills in little brown paper envelopes, then after ins paid for heart & blood tests I had to pay another $300.00. I went back four more times, and I was told I could come in anytime to weigh in for free, and it seemed each time I would go back I was asked to pay a co-pay by one girl, then another would interupt & say no charge for weigh ins. Everyone also seemed more intrested in me buying more pills. The first day I took the pill as instructed 1/2 in am and 1/2 in pm I thought I was having a panic attack and my heart beat fast. The dr did advise me I may have trouble sleeping, but she could give me a pill for that also! When I returned there seemed to be a set of different girls working there and 2 indian doctors that are no longer there. My chart was never retrieved during my visits, I met with the doctor once after initial visit, but Dr. Whaley came into the room so quickly to see if everything was okay if I needed more pills, I said yes and she ran out the door to get more phentermine pills. Dr. Whaley herself looked like she was on meds herself and slurred her words and commented on her working till midnight the day before. Several times the office was closed during the hours they were suposed to be open. This last visit was the worst, I was asked to give my ins card and co-pay because all the charts were being re-organized. After I stated I was told there was no charge, then the girl just shrugged her shoulders and kept working on other papers. The first new girl took my blood pressure with a machine and for the first time in my life she said it was high. Then after some back and forth with an older nurse, who re-took blood pressure it manually, said it was lower but a little high and went to talk to Dr. Whaley. Nurse came back to waiting room and in front of all to hear said Dr. Whaley recommended meds for blood pressure. The point - DRUG PUSHERS! There is a pill for everything, no one ever monitored diet or excercise. I took pills as I felt they helped curbed appetitle or not. I did loose 30lbs over 5 months according to my notes (since they never had my previous weigh in or chart at each visit), but now I may have given myself high blood pressure and a drug dependency and will probably gain it all since the nurse told me I can't take it anymore. I should have googled the pills, and now that I did, I regret ever taking them. Please google side effects of pills and I should have gone back to weight watchers which helped me loose 60 lbs over a year healthfuly. I am definetly getting a second opinion and visiting a better wellness health center then this pill pushing office! If you google dr you can read other reviews. more
