I was visiting the Savannah area on May 11, 2007. I frequently travel with my two dogs: Kadin and Sadie. We got up early on that Friday morning and went to a nearby community park. We walked around the lake and stopped for a water break. I was sitting under a shade tree watching Kadin and Sadie run and play when Kadin stopped quickly. He came and sat beside me. I thought he was hot or perhaps he was ready to leave. We got in the car and I noticed that Kadin seemed sleepy, almost if he was going to faint. He was unable to hold his head up and began to drool. He could only open one eye. My first thought was to rush him to our trusted vet, Dr. Jonathan Hatchett. The realization came quickly that we were far from home and even farther from Dr. Hatchett?s practice. I felt helpless as Kadin was getting worse by the minute.
