Westshore Colony Apartments

What I've noticed after living here for several months, is that this place attracts: +People who like to smoke or inhale smoke from other people, and leave cigarrette butts lying all over the place, ready to be picked up by someone's toddler. Also, people who don't respect the air your children are trying to breathe. +People who enjoy guzzling beer in the pool while families with little children shy away +People who throw loud and obnoxious parties that provoke police calls all night and morning- SO MUCH FOR BEAUTY SLEEP! +People who think that the park is not private and dock their boats here, enjoy the park, often leaving their beer bottles behind for your and my child to pick up, while its half full still. (HAPPENED!) +Basically, people think this place is a PARTY zone and have very little respect for the beautiful park and scenery that so many people wish they could enjoy. ----------------------------- All that being said, those are not the only types of people who live here. There are many nice people who are considerate. The people with dogs do a good job of cleaning up after them. But seriously there needs to be a major cleaning effort because the dock and park is more often than not cluttered with the waste of drunks, drug addicts, and inconsiderate partiers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE IF YOU: +Have any children under the age of 6 (In my opinion this place is VERY UNSAFE for children under the age of 6, my son almost drown in the river and they did NOTHING to make up for it, or prevent it from happening in the future to anyone else.) +Have any problem paying your rent after the 1st day of the month (because they'll request you move out if you can't pay it by then, and they'll cash your check immediately if you send it in early.) +Have any sensitivity whatsoever to cigarrettes, cigarrette smoke, annoying people, broken glass, bottle caps lying all over the place, clutter that isn't in a garbage, or if tons of trash in what would otherwise be a beautiful river, bothers you. +Also if freeway noise bothers you anytime of the day or night I really wish this place had worked out better for us, but it would have to be more family oriented for that to happen. We will not renew our lease. more

I loved my balcony. The units are very well maintained. The location is gorgeous. Very little neighbor noise and location noise. I loved their pet policy and very affordable. Pros: Office staff is fantastic, apts are clean and quiet Cons: some units have parking issues more

I would not recommend Westshore Colony Apartments in New Braunfels, TX to anyone! I lived there for two years and had numerous problems. The neighbors around my apartment were loud and left trash all over the grounds. My apartment always smelled like cigarette smoke from the neighbors around me who smoked. I could actually smell the smoke in my clothes when I was out of the apartment. I complained several times and nothing was ever done. The parking was also a mess. I had to pay for a parking space because there was hardly any parking close to my apartment. When I moved out, I cleaned the apartment (the apartment was cleaner when I moved out than it was when I moved in), I was charged for general cleaning, touch-up paint and a carpet cleaning. You should not be charged for general things that the apartment does any time someone moves out. I asked the management office about these things and there was nothing they would do. I even called the management company in San Anontio and they did not call me back for over a week. Cons: management, neighbors, policies for moving out more
