Westland Dog Food Co Inc

My family adopted our two Pugs from Westland Dog Food. One was in 1998 and lived almost 17 years before passing from old age in September of 2015. Our younger Pug was adopted from here in 2002. He lived to be 13 and 1/2 years old and died last Monday. My family and I are sad without our two Pugs. I can't say anything bad about Westland Dog Food. My Pugs lived very long and loving lives. Some of these so called ""rescue groups"" are a bit ridiculous in trying to lay down their rules for you to be allowed to adopt ""their"" animals. No, I don't believe that all stores get their dogs and cats from mills. That is a lot of hype. I like Westland Dog Food. Their prices are reasonable compared to say a certain store at 12 Oaks Mall. I did adopt my Pug from there about 5 years ago. He is doing very well. more

Last time i was in this store they had small kennels for smaller pups but the larger breeds were in fenced areas on the floor???? My thought if you do not have room for bigger breeds don't sell them. As for puppy mill pups I do believe it read their website "" let them know what type of dog you are looking for and they can get it in a week!"" Oh come on people you just can't pull dogs out of the air! I smell puppy mill! Also I used to work for pet land westland their out of buss. thank god Can we all say PUPPY MILL? more

My dog was sick as soon as I purchased it.I was told to go to their vet who told me to have the dog put down.Someone is bribing the vet to cover their butts.Westland Dog food is a bunch of con artists.My papers for the dog aren't even legit I was told.Needless to say I took my dog to another vet and 1000 dollars later he is fine no thanks to Westland dog Food. Westland Dog Food people are wonderful, helpful people. They even gave us free sweaters and books on the breed we bought. Little female Pomeranian. She was sitting so cute in her cage with a little pink bow in her hair, they gave us all 5 toys that were in her crate and her blankie too! Sent us home with a big bag of the puppy food she was eating (which when we looked it up it read really really good, chicken and rice all natural). the staff went over everything from A-Z on little "Bella", and even gave us potty pads to help aid with potty training. I'm just so amazed with all the help and friendliness the company gave us. I've been looking around for a pup for a while and even called rescues. Most of them put me on a waiting list for months and every time I went to adopt from the Human Society the dog was gone the next day :( I have a great family with a good income, nice good sized fenced in yard, 1100 square foot house, and some rescues turned me down to adopt! How can you help save these animals when they don't let half of them get adopted and the other half gets euthanized! Ridiculous! None of Westland's pups looked sick in the least, and they all had multiple toys, food, blankies, and water because I looked to make sure. Never believe everything you hear OR read until you actually look for yourself. A+++ Westland Dog Food keep up the good work! We recently purchased a puppy from this store and the puupy ended up sick and in need of emergency care 3 days after we bought her. This cost us quite a bit of money beacuse we had to take her to a 24 hour care clinic due to the fact that she got sick on a Sunday. Pros: null Cons: null more

I recently bought a puppy from here, and found out a couple of months later that she came from a puppy mill in Missouri. These people con you and are funding animal torture and cruelty. The papers they gave me were even fake, and I am almost positive my puppy is not pure bred like she is supposed to be. If you truly love animals you would not be involved in business with Puppy mills and the funding of mistreatment of animals! more

I had worked at Westland Dog Food for many years and I can say that they love the animals they sell. They are trying to match families with there pets! I witnessed them when they have a sick pup or kitten, they will do all it takes to help them...You have no right to talk bad about this store! You want to pick on someone, pick on Pet Land I worked there too! more

I am shocked I read the reviews posted about Westland Dog Food. My family and friends have bought MANY dogs from these people and they help with anything from potty training to picking out dog food to skin problems. Loving puppies that are well SOCIALIZED AND HEALTHY. I wouldnt go anywhere else. I am not saying all places that sell puppies are great but this place isnt the average store you need to beware of. Caring people that know a great deal and dont mind sharing advice. more

Yes, they do indeed ship their dogs from the midwest puppy mills. Since 2001, they have shipped puppies from far away states including AR, IA, KS, MN, MO, OK, WI. Watch out for those protesters down the road! Time to start a new business plan. High end dog food might be a better choice. more

How dare you try to sell sick and diseased puppies! God only knows where you get your kittens from. Westland Dog Food, is located on Ford Rd, is easy to find and has good parking. We used to buy all of our dog food from them when we lived closer to them. They carry several brands of dog food, and use to have their own brand also(don't know if they still do). They also have a good supply of other pet supplies on hand. \r \r They also sell puppies and kittens. more
