Framing can be very costly, esp. in San Francisco. A friend recommended this mom-and-pop shop in Daly City, about a 15min drive from SOMA. They had a good selection; when I was debating between a few frames, the owner showed me a set of catalogs. Said he could order me anything I wanted. Whereas FastFrame was quoting me anywhere between $800-1200 to frame an oil painting that itself cost less than half that amount, Westlake offered me a great frame job--including stretching--for $200, including tax. And they completed it within the week. Then, when the finished piece wouldn't fit in my sedan, the owner put it in his truck and drove it to my house! He refused the $20 tip I offered him. They absolutely have earned my repeat business.
