In one word: dishonest. I will absolutely never do business with Westheimer Flea Market again and I strongly urge others to either avoid the store altogether or, at the very least, exercise great caution if you do decide to conduct business with them. The owner is particularly shady. \r We agreed to exchange an armoire of mine for a $65 store credit, based on pictures shown to them. They came to get the armoire from my apartment and said that the best that they would do is $50 store credit. They said that although they would probably get $125-$150 for it, it was a big piece and would take up room for an indefinite period. I understood that they might try to pull something like that in order to get the piece for a lower price from the originally agreed upon $65 and so I agreed to $50 store credit if they take it now. We both agreed. As they began to move it, the man said that it was light and that he thought $35 store credit would be better....... I should have known at that point that it would turn out bad but they were in my house and I simply wanted it gone. I agreed to $35. They finally took the piece and gave me a piece of paper that said that I get a store credit for $35. \r Within an hour, they called back and said that they didn't want it and that I could come pick it up and that the store credit would NOT be good!!! They knew that I didn't have the means to transport it but they clearly just wanted the piece and didn't want to give me anything in return.... The irony is that it was highly unlikely that I would ever use the store credit.....but, at this stage, it was the point of the matter. They were clearly trying to scam me. I spoke with the owner and he said that when his workers, one of whom was his son, brought it to him that he didn't like it and wanted out of the deal. I explained that everyone, those who represented him as well as me, acted in good faith, and that the deal was done and that was that. I further pointed out that his store policy was one of ""all sales are final"", yet he wanted to back out of the deal with me..... I was clearly being taken. One expects some haggling at a flea market but these guys are simply scammers. The neighborhood is filled with flea markets with hard-working and honest individuals and you are MUCH better off patronizing those stores and avoiding Westheimer FLEECE Market.... more

Magnificent hard-to-find early to late 1800's antiques 4/1/2009

Newly opened antique shop located at 1735 Westheimer spelled Lou B's Antiques. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this antique shop directly across from the infamous Empire Cafe. I found it to be very neat and organized with absolutely great antiques dating from the mid 1800's to 1950's. Prices are negotiable which is unbelievably reasonable in comparison to other antique shops. All furnishings are in great condition which many have been newly restored. Has several sets of chest-of-drawers, dining tables/chairs, French and Italian occasional chairs, stain glass, and much more. All furnishings are setting on a basketball/gymnasium floor which was purchased at an auction and was at one time housed in a local university. I highly recommend this antique shop to anyone in the market for that very special furnishing at an awesome price. Pros: Very clean and organized furnishings on gymnasium floors Cons: Not enough space in my home to buy everythings more
