Western Co 24 hour donut shop is God's gift to Seattle. It's nestled amongst the holy trinity of a 76 station, a Subway, and a tobacco shop, but its skeezy location just makes this diamond in the rough sparkle all the more. They have a dazzling selection of donuts, their apple fritters have gigantic chunks of delicious apples in them, and their service is amazing. They even sell cartons of milk-- very smart. The donuts are cheap, the kind proprietor allows hobos to hang out inside on cold nights (but they're nice hobos and wax philosophical after 2am), and somehow, the donuts are fresh and warm even in the middle of the night. Who knew perfection comes in glazed, old-fashioned, or chocolate?
