Karl Ritter, Born Sept 1951, worked in the oil field as a Driller Pumper Operator for years following the footsteps of his grandfather. He always had a love for the 1940s. He loved the music, how life was, and the WWII era, hence the Air Force of the time. He would fly out to see the Military Air Shows. And in 2006 he found the Texas Zepher wasting away in an old hanger. Mr. Ritter took the plane home to Fredricksburg Texas and began to rebuild the Texas Zepher to its former glory days. At the time of his passing in 2019, Karl Ritter had donated the Texas Zepher to the Highland Lakes Squadron in Burnet Texas to replace the Bluebonnet Belle that has crashed in July 2018 so it could continue to tell the story of the WWII era. If you look up “Zepher” you will see it means the Greek God of the West Wind, in remembrance for my father-in-law Karl Ritter and to honor his memory and his children, Robert Ritter and my wife Michelle Wilson We Named Our Trucking Company WEST WIND TRUCKING. Always KEEP THE WEST WIND BENEATH YOUR WINGS AND AT YOUR BACK AND ENJOY THE JOURNEY, KARL RITTER CERTAINLY DID.
