Bang for the buck 4/6/2006

I was brought up going to this movie theater. I’m always a fan of anything I can walk to, and from most places in New Cumberland, this is walking distance. For those who still have to drive, think of all of the money you’re saving by not going to a high priced theater. Those savings can go to your gas money. They don’t get “opening night” premieres, but they still get movies pretty soon after they’re out, and again…for the price, you just can’t beat it. Be sure to check out their Tuesday night specials. Last time I was there, it was less than $3 on a Tuesday. $5 total and you had a ticket, popcorn, and soda. more

My favorite movie theatre 11/22/2005

If you are tired of paying $10 to see a movie, you need to head to the West Shore Theater. The do get movies a few weeks later than the others, but the wait is well worth it for the price and charm of this great local theater. It is definitely worth checking out! more

Old Charm 10/31/2005

This theater definitely has the old days charm that makes it inviting and welcome. The admissions costs are fantastic. You don't get the fantastic reclining, stadium seats. But for the price you pay, it doesn't matter anyway. And each year it seems that they are competing more and more with the bigger theaters and coming out with the movies even sooner than before. more

Classic movie theater 8/2/2005

Located on Bridge Street in New Cumberland, the old West Shore Theatre is a classic. It's a must see for those craving the old days of theaters. It's pretty much as it was when it was build, and it nicely maintained with all the classic ornate touches. The films are mostly second run of films, films that have been out for a number of weeks. The snack bar is really a mom and pop operation, with unbelieveably cheap prices compared to the corporately owned theaters in the area. I believe Tuesday nights are still the bargain nights with cheaper admission. Park at the bank parking lot across the street. more
