Because I served in the Marine Corps (just long enough to get benefits), I am eligible to be treated at any VA Medical Center. Luckily for me, the one in W. Palm is a full care, modern facility. My primary care "physician" isn't actually a doctor, he's a PA. I believe that stands for Physician's Assistant. I think he's as good as any doctor (better than some) and I like him a lot. Any problem he can't treat, he refers me to a specialty doctor. Most of the staff who works here are friendly and know what they're doing. I had to go to rehab for PT for a while and the therapists were very good. Everything I need can be taken care of right in this one building. Doctor, hospital, surgery (inpatient and out), X-rays, lab work, pharmacy. Like most anything service connected, there are waits at every juncture. I usually stop in the cafeteria while I'm waiting for a prescription to be filled. They've even got some pretty good food here. If you like to read, look for the book carts (usually in the lobby). The friends of somebody sell books pretty darn cheap.
Major drawback: Parking. It's not uncommon to have to park out in the field. There are shuttle busses that come along eventually.
