The office may be a little run down or old but the care in my eyes was first rate. Dr. Padilla gave me options to treat my pet and also gave me his recomendation that saved me about 1,000 $. I could have easily been price gauged as some vets have tried to do before. Dr. P treated us like we were his friends and that was great. They have earned my business. Sam and Cannon more

I LOVE WEST HAVEN ANIMAL CLINIC 3/21/2008

I had a 21 year old cat, took it too an another vets office because the cat wasn't doing very well. The vet took all kinds of tests and then said the cat had a body of a 5 year old. He then gave me a bill for almost $400.00. I could not believe how much he charged me.\r 2 months later on FATHER'S DAY AT 8:00 AT NIGHT, my cat walked into the kitchen and fell down, I quickly called Dr. Padilla and he said I will meet you at the office. He brought his nephew with him because the nephew came long distance to visit him.\r He was so wonderful and yes, he did have to put the cat to sleep. But he had so much compassion. I would reccomend DR. PADILLA TO ANYONE. He has the best personality and also a very compasionate vet. His prices are so inexpensive. After I leave his office, I come home and call the other vet and ask what they would charge for the same thing and what a differnce in price. EXCELLENT 2/12/2008

Dr P is great with animals. I live in East Haven and still go there. I go there for the service. It is old fashioned, yes but I am even impressed by the younger staff. I have alot of experience with animals and vets and this is where I will stay! Most vets would not even take in cats (for adoption), so I would not criticize the cleanliness of the cats. Take them home and clean them! That is what adoption is all about. I also have never known him to be sarcastic but everyone is different. more

Great Place! 1/7/2008

After reading the other reviews, maybe this place isn't for everyone. It is an old-fashioned, basic vet's office. My daughter and I love it and have absolute faith in what Dr. Padilla tells us. Between us we have 6 cats and a dog, so we have been there a lot. Dr. Padilla and his staff are caring, natural people who are truthful to a fault. They don't sugar coat anything. Where else can you find a vet open 7 days a week with grooming and boarding facilities. Yes, the prices vary. There seems to be a sliding scale based on your ability to pay. How wonderful for those of us who are counting every penny, but still want to make sure our pets get the proper care. Thank you Dr. Padilla, for being there. more

My dog and myself have been fortunate to have had fantastic service from the doctor and his staff.My dog was having very bad digestive problems and the ""good"" doctor had put him on a prescription diet.That was 10 years ago.My dog today is extremely healthy and now enjoys living his life to the fullest. worst clinic ever 7/31/2007

This place is awful. Last time I went there one of the employees were yelling at the doctor and he was just as bad. then he proceeded to tell me about the situation. so I felt in the middle. It was very uncomfortable. He also did not seem to be paying any attention to what I asked about my dog. Pros: It was close Cons: The doctor and prices seem to keep changing more

In all honesty its been 7 years since I have been there. So who knows maybe they are better. But I had multiple bad experiences there. The reason why i had gone there more than once was because I was young and didnt have a car and had to walk there. dr. padilla diagnosed my cat wrong who could have been treated but died of cancer. which happens however like i said there were many more problems. my dog was misbehaving because he was nervous. he never bit anyone or growled he just kept running around . He told me he was going to have a talk with the dog, which i thought was weird but i figured he was joking and maybe getting some meds or something. when my dog came back he was crawling it the room tail between the legs. That is the last time i visited there. I hate to say it but they suffer less when they are sick then going to that hospital. PROS: none CONS: see review more
