West Coast Family Aquatics Center

I wish I could give a zero star. There is horrible mold in the Women's Locker Room where any child could go and become sick. The coaches are not supportive. My child had an injury at the pool and wasn't even offered an ice pack! The coaches are very rude to the children. My son came home and told me that his coach told him he didn't care and put no effort into swimming. He was recovering from the injury he recieved there and wasn't even encouraged to give his best. If you are the best swimmer then they will pay attention to you. If you aren't then go to a different pool. My son never got any attention at practice and it wasted our money. He came home another day and told me how loud the coaches yell at the kids who do not swim fast enough. I will never go there again and DON'T GO EITHER!! IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!!! more

Need to ckeck this facility out. They just completed a renovation of their pool and it is beautiful. Look as as if the hot tub is still being renovated but is suppose to be finished soon. Programs are great value with quality instructors. Great family facility. more

First of all, the pool is in a desperate need of a renovation. Secondly, the majority of the swim instructors are teenagers who don't interact well with children - they lack the enthusiasm and the encouragement needed when dealing with them. One of the instructors even seemed uncomfortable dealing with children. My child went from LOVING being in the water to being totally petrified after participating in classes here. When I spoke with Cathy Gundlach the program director to voice my concerns, the only response I was afforded was, "You can complain all you want, you're not getting a refund." (I never once asked for my money back; I only wanted her aware of how her classes were being conducted). Save yourself the grief and money and go elsewhere. more

The West Coast Family Aquatics Center is a great place to go for different swimming related activities. They have a huge 6-lane 25 yard pool, a hot tub, a cardio/fitness area, locker rooms and the store to purchase swimming related items. I've taken swimming lessons and water aerobics there and the instructors are fantastic. They are upbeat, friendly, and very motivating. You can sign up for a yearly or a monthly membership, and as part of your membership, your classes are included. There is even a seniors rate. There is a lot of parking available and the facilities are really clean. I don't really like their swim store (instead preferring to buy my swimming items at a sporting goods store), but it is nice to have that there if you forget something. Because they offer lap swimming at some times during the day and open swimming other times during the day, you're able to get your lap swimming in without being crowded by other people just enjoying the pool. I highly recommend this facility. more
