Gourmet Food for Lunch ! 5/5/2011

What a pleasant surprise, thought this was a small cafe kind of place and it is actually some of the best food I have ever had in Portland for lunch. Our salads, sandwiches, and soup were excellent. It took awhile for the food to arrive but the quality of the food is excellent. Will return to try out their bar and especially the wines. It does not look on the outside what one experiences on the inside of this restaurant. Be sure to try the house salad dressing, yummy with an oriental flavor, kind of like miso, wonderful!! more

Great party Site 9/15/2010

We held our son's wedding rehearsal at West Cafe on July 24, 2010. Everything about the dinner was perfect. The owner and chef, Sean, was delightful to work with. He created a menu specifically for our party of 50. He was professional throughout the process and went out of his way to accommodate the specific needs of our party. The restaurant is beautiful. The food was delicious and was presented beautifully. Our hats off to a job well dene! We would highly recommend this for any type of private event. more

Great neighborhood restaurant 9/1/2010

I've been to West Cafe several times for lunch and dinner and have always had a wonderful meal. It's just a block up from the streetcar stop at SW 11th & Jefferson, and is a great spot for American food done right with local, seasonal ingredients and a gourmet touch. I also love the cocktails and find the atmosphere to be warm and friendly. Their salads are very good (the cobb & beet salads are favorites), and the Columbia River salmon I had recently was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Recommended! more
