West Bridge

It has been a few years since I visited CBC and I enjoyed it. I visited CBC again last night and unfortunately had the worst time I have had in any Restaurant/Brew Pub ever. First, the service was just downright bad. I ordered a beer from a tall bartender who began to pour my beer but completely forgot what he as doing and left it under the tap(foam had already disappeared 10 minutes prior). He was preoccupied talking to a waitress and ignored me, never once looking around the bar to see if anyone needed anything. After trying to get his attention for 10 minutes, I then interrupted a Blonde female bartender(who had tattoos on one arm) who was also completely engaged in her own conversation. She was so put off that I had the audacity to interrupt her that she had the audacity to interrupt the tall guy and complain about her misfortune. Now there is a funk in the air over all of this(there goes the ""great"" atmosphere). I can put up with arrogant service if the product(the beer) is great but the beer was extremely average. I have been a home brewer for 15 years and I know the spectrum of beer tastes. The Charles River Porter was good but it should be since they have had many years to perfect it. The other beers I had were just OK. Sorry but the reason I came to CBC was ""Great beer"". I now have 2 reasons not to return. Anything good? Yes, the atmosphere(outside our proximity) was great and the location is great but I guess that's were the ""GREAT"" reviews stem from. Beer is my biggest vice, by far. and finding a good brewery in town is hard. We do have a few but nothing good. I stumbled up CBC through 'couchsurfing' and my friend turned me onto the Amber. I read some of the other reviews and I am actually surprised at the stuff people said. I haven't gone there for dinner, per se, but i have ordered food at the bar and it was good. The bartenders are all very nice and work very hard and keep a great attitude. I definately say the Amber from cbc is the best brewed beer in Boston/Cambridge. Pros: The amber is delish Cons: the rest of the beer choices are not delish more

My boyfriend was reluctant to go to CBC as he said the service is usually terribly slow. However, since it was 2:30 in the afternoon and likely not busy, we decided to check it out anyway. Pros: beer Cons: terrible, slow service; cold, mediocre food more

must give this place credit- they make quality, original, and tasty beers, served by a great group of people..couldnt ask for much more from a microbrewery more

My husband and I were visiting Boston and Cambridge and went here for dinner on a Friday night. It was packed but we some found out why! We had the nachos which had nice homemade chips, fresh salsa, beans, corn and cheese - very good way to start out dinner. For my entree I had the asian chicken salad. It was pretty good; a little dry at first, so I asked for more dressing, which the waiter happily gave me. My husband got one of the pizzas with pepperoni, sausage and red pepper flakes, along with one of their in house brews. Everything tasted delicious; the crowd was pretty friendly and the service was prompt/helpful without being overboard. Unfortunately my husband got sick that night...maybe it was the combination of the brew with nachos and pizza? Not sure. I was fine, however. I think it was a fluke but you may want to take a precautionary dose of pepto before eating any of the pizzas! Pros: Service, decent prices Cons: Busy more

I work in the bio-tech industry in cambridge.I was feeling hungry so a friend said try C.B.C as the locals call it.Never again food was poor the staff was worst and the one thing that should be good the beer tasted like soap.I thought that the glass was not clean so I ordered a different beer.No it wasnt the glass it was the beer. more

You have to try this place. The beer is one of a kind! :) It's a wonderful place to grab a bite to eat and have a few beers after work. more
