Paid $20 for a sandwich and Large Drink 9/14/2010

Went through the drive through and ordered a chicken sandwich, large drink and a bottle of water. (total: $8.93) I thought this was a bit excessive, so when I questioned the employee at the window, she gave me a breakdown of my charges as I handed her a $20 bill for my meal. Before I left, I realized I didn't receive my change. The employee indicated she ""couldn't remember"" giving me my change, stating later, she couldn't ""do 2 things at once"". At that point, she pulled the register while I was made to wait in the drive-through for them to count it. ( I was on my way to class and ended up being late because I was kept waiting). They came back stating the register was not over and they would not return my change to me. I gave them back my food because I was so angry. I asked to speak with a manager and was denied. (They later gave me his number, but not his name). When I insisted they give me my change back, they called the police. I did not ever receive a receipt, nor did I receive my change. I was later told the receipt machine in the drive-through was broken. In talking with the manager the next day, he still insisted the register was not over and would not be doing anything to return my money to me. I will NEVER return to this store. $20 is way too much to pay for a lousy sandwich and drink, even at Wendy's. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Named after the daughter of amiable founder Dave Thomas, this Ohio-based chain is more inviting than your typical fast-food joint, thanks to comforting touches like carpeted floors, Tiffany-style lamps and plenty of foliage. The signature square burgers are made-to-order; chicken sandwiches are available grilled or fried. Thick fries, meaty chili and stuffed baked potatoes round out a menu that includes a cool, ultra-thick chocolate Frosty.
