I've been to chiropractors in the past but felt like they were rather quacky. They seemed to all explain away any back/neck problems as being caused by some fall I must have had in my childhood -- who hasn't had a fall as a kid?? Dr. Ben Sweeney is quite different! I was referred to him by a friend and only went after I'd suffered too long with excrutiating elbow pain. I'd been diagnosed by orthopaedic doctors as having "tennis elbow" and told by them that only time could truly make the pain better. I was told that it would probably be 6 months to 2 years before I'd feel normal again. In the meantime I was given a prescription for painkillers and told to be patient. Even physical therapists gave me little hope of any quick relief from the pain. On my first visit to Dr. Sweeney I couldn't straighten out my arm and was in tears from the pain. He listened carefully and asked specific questions, without jumping to any conclusions. He took great time to xray my elbow and back and clearly explained that he felt the pain in my elbow was caused by problems in my back. His empathetic nature and calm, but friendly, personality encouraged me to give the process a try. After only 1 week of treatment I knew that I'd made the best medical decision of my life. Just a few weeks later the pain was totally gone! Unbelievable!! I have proudly referred Dr. Sweeney to others and they are also grateful to experience his care! RELIEF! I went in with back and hip pain and leg cramps. Dr. Ben evaluated me and let me know what it would take to get me feeling better. We did that and now I am about 85% of what I was before my car accident. I visit Dr. Ben ever 3 - 5 weeks for maintenance that seems to rejuvanate me. The office feels like a high-end massage spa. I no longer need to go get massages because 15 minutes at Sweeney Chiropractic is better than 60 minutes with most massage therapist. Pros: Pain Relief and I believe my BP has been lowered. Cons: I no longer work within 2 miles of the office, but it is very convenient to CoolSprings/Franklin. more

I would highly recommend Dr. Sweeney. I was having trouble driving long distances without using cruise control because of my hip and leg pain. After two months of treatment I took my next drive to Ohio. I drove pain free and did not have to use cruise control at all. I was sooo excited!! He has also helped my husband with the side pain he had been experiencing the last two years. He had been to numerous doctors and numerous medications and none worked. We are so pleased with our results. Dr. Ben is very good explaining why you are having your pain, and why what he is going to do will help. Dr. Sweeney and his staff are AWESOME! I say he has "healing hands". Dr. Sweeney has a wonderful way of explaining the adjustments (why and how they help). He also explains the pain and why it is happening and quickly determines the best adjustment to alleviate the pain. He is also great about giving you "stretching" exercises to do in between visits. He truly is a natural healer which is great as most doctors just push a "pill" to mask the pain. I have referred several friends and coworkers to him and they have all been very pleased with Dr. Sweeney. His staff is very friendly, helpful and always accommodating if you need to see him. The office was recently remodeled and looks great. When you walk in there is a "calming" feeling about the office which makes it easier to relax. Some say the location isn't great...I beg to differ. It is so easy to get there just off of McEwen and Mallory and with the early and late hours, it is always easy to get in and see him. It is also not in the congested part of Cool Springs which is a huge plus! Go see him, give him a chance; I just know you will stay with him! He really is a great healing doctor! I have been enjoying the benefits of chiropractic care since I was a small child. I had been with the same chiro for many years and upon moving to Tennessee almost 3 years ago, I was nervous about finding somebody new. I didn't until about a year ago when Dr. Sweeney started treating my husband for migraine headaches. I have been so glad that we found him!!! He is a very gentle practitioner which I like and my 2 small daughters are very comfortable with him too. We have told all of our friends about him and will continue to spread the word!
