He does his job fine, but he is more interested in money 8/19/2005

You have to be careful when you go to DDS Gary Weider's office for your mouth care. First of all because he will try to convince you that your mouth is not healthy, and you need extra care, and then he will try to sell you several things like an electric toothbrush and some other stuff which is very expensive and not covered by your insurance. He is more experinced in cosmetic side of this business, so he will not want to do your root canal. He sent me to another doctor to get my root canal done. Then after I kindly rejected all the things that he wanted to sell to me, he immediately stopped taking care of me, and left the room. Because he had other patients waiting that he would do his sales pitch. Also, his secretary never stops calling you. Once she told me, you dont even pay for cleaning, your insurance pays it all, so come for cleaning more often. what kind of a business ethic is that? And Had i accepted to buy all the goods and services they offered it was going to cost me like 4grand. I think this some kind of a rip off. more

Sadly this person got the wrong impression of what we are all about. For over 50 years Aventura Dental Excellence has put our patient’s interest first. If you read his review his comments are contradictory. For example, if “money was all we are about”, why would the doctor refer him out to have his root canal performed? He makes no money by referring out any patient to another doctor and it is done ONLY IN THE PATIENT’S BEST INTEREST. He mentions our gum program( which works well for those who choose it) which he declined, but he did not say that we mention to all our patients that this is their choice. Lastly, when Eric “kindly rejected” the recommended treatment, of course the Doctor left him alone. We don't want to harass the patients. The Doctor spends quite a bit of time explaining to all his patients their needs and when he does leave he makes it clear that if his assistants can’t answer any questions to go get his help. It is unfortunate we did not get the opportunity to help Eric but we hope he got the help he needed.
