Last year I bought 4 cherry trees; two from Wegman's & 2 from a nursery in Atherton (different varieties). Low & behold: the trees from Wegman's were much better quality. The other ones ended up having poor grafts, resulting in dead branches. Over the years, I've found that quality counts. Again, I learned my lesson this summer, chasing big box sales. Wegman's will order 6 packs of perennials, recently paying $3.50@, vs getting a root bound "deal" at 30-50% off on a 1 gallon or 1 quart plant elsewhere. Plan ahead! Packages of bulbs from Costco simply don't have the success rate as those from Wegman's, I've learned my lesson. Wegman's has folks that know when & what to do with problems, they're always helpful in solving them, without selling product. When we first bought our home, many years ago, Mrs. Wegman told me not to buy a certain plant in the fall, due to our location. They will turn away biz if they know it won't work. Very reputable & fun!
