The Wedge is the best co-op in the Twin Cities. Everyone that works there is so informed and helpful. Their deli, bakery, and smoothie/juice bar are great. Their fresh-squeezed gr...

Fresh Food & Friendly Service 9/12/2006

The Wedge is an absolutely wonderful resource for organic food, top-notch quality produce, free-range meats, and an amazing selection of cheese. For all you amateur chefs who believe in making everything from scratch, check out The Wedge Co-op to get the ingredients for your next masterpiece. You do not have to be a member to shop there, but membership does have its benefits. For instance, the more you spend as a member, the larger the dividend you can receive at the end of the year. Also, you can qualify for all kinds of coupons and discounts. I would recommend joining only if you plan on committing to making The Wedge your primary grocery store, as the prices are a bit steep(but worth it). To sum it up: Do expect to find fresh salads and pre-prepared entrées in the deli. Do not expect to find overly processed, cheap food. Do expect to find eco-friendly cleaning products. Do not expect to find Dawn or Tide on the shelves; as I'm pretty sure they only carry the safe stuff. The same goes for any other basic cleaning supply. Do expect to be tempted by all the fresh bakery goods. Do not expect perfection out of the vegan selections, however. Do expect friendly service at the deli counter and checkout lane. Do not expect them to question you if you borrow your friend's member number and use one of their coupons! What can I say? I love The Wedge and everything that they stand for; sustainable farming, social justice, and high quality food. If those values are important to you, then check out this happy little co-op. more

Organic Market 1/17/2006

If you're looking for a health food store in Uptown then you should check out the Wedge. They carry organic produce, meat and dairy products along with health and beauty items. You can buy a membership to be part of the co-op. This offers extra discounts on products. I find them to have limited products and higher prices. more

Great Organic Grocery Store 11/18/2005

The wedge is a gret place to but organically grown healthy foods. The other great thing is that they have tons of unique products such as real peanut butter, werid vegitables, sodas, honey, and much more. I also like this store because it is clean and well run. The main down side is it is expensive but you have to pay for quality so it's worth it. more

Natural, yet tasty...mmm...tasty... 10/31/2005

The Wedge is one of the best natural food co-ops I’ve ever seen. They have an excellent selection of organic and earth-friendly products, without compromising flavor. The store will sell groceries to anyone, but since it is a co-operative, people that are members get a good discount on stuff. However, the quality and healthiness of the food and household items, along with the employees’ expertise, is what really keeps people coming back for more than 25 years. more

Bring your own bags and save a little money too. Become a member and get discounts and money back with purchases. EnJOY! more

Co-Op Offers Great Selection 9/22/2005

There are a lot of Co-Op's in the Twin Cities, but as far as most locals are concerned, the Wedge is THE Co-Op. For the best selection of any co-op, fresh & unique produce, uncomparable meat (amazing variety of free range & organic), and a multitude of other products, check out the Wedge. All in all the prices are comparable to other co-ops, which are still a little higher than most chain stores. But come on, you get what you pay for right? And the Wedge does have larger quantities than most other smaller co-ops, so you can find some really good deals. The Wedge has wonderful produce & some of the best HoneyCrisp apples in town. Their produce department is always fresh, mostly organic or local grown & well laid out. If there was one area that the Wedge is stellar about it IS selection! Check them out if you're new to co-op shopping. more

I love going here! 9/7/2005

I love going to The Wedge. From the all-natural, granola-y products to the hippie staff, everything about this place is pure, natural and perfect! They have either the nation's first or one of the first all 100% organic butcher counters. I got 100% organic bacon there that was so good I almost drooled when I ate it! In addition, you can get your grains, legumes and other baking products in bulk, which will save you money. You only need to buy what you need! all in all, I gave this place five stars. It's fantastic! more

Glad I found this--now one of my favorite stores! 8/22/2005

We were looking for a co-op to join, and visited and compared several. This is the one we chose, and haven't been disappointed. The produce department is one of the very best in the Twin Cities, and the organic produce is very fresh and of high quality. The prices are about average for natural and organic products, with a good variety, and the bulk food section is exceptional. The meat, dairy and frozen food sections offer many choices. There is also an excellent bulk spices area, and a good array of health-supplements for those interested in that. The website displays the monthly specials, and also has recipes, along with links to sites for organic farming, plus a section devoted to "what's new" in produce. more

great for organic food 8/21/2005

The wedge is a great place to get organic food, it is a little pricey but the quality is outstanding. They are pretty much like a regular grocery store but with mostly organic foods. I love to buy fruits and veggies from the wedge. They also have a really great organic ice cream. If you are into organic food I recommend you check out the wedge. more

Hip Urban Coop 8/19/2005

Minneapolis could easily change its moniker from “City of Lakes” to “City of Coops”. One of the finest coops in the twin cities is the Wedge. Located on the edge of Uptown, the Wedge offers a broad selection of organic produce and prepared foods. The wedge is larger and has a much better selection than most coops in the Twin Cities. The Wedge’s parking lot is usually full, but there is additional free parking on Lyndale Avenue. more

Super-Sized Co-op 8/19/2005

The Wedge is by far the largest and best stocked co-op in the city. Most people seem to shop here for either organic produce or prepared deli food. I tend to shop here for the bulk spices and imported cheese. Until Trader Joes shows up in St. Louis Park sometime in 2006, the Wedge will continue to have some of the best prices in town on cheese and whatever healthy packaged items they are offering on sale that week. Their non-sale items tend to be a bit pricey, however, and organic food is expensive no matter where you shop in the Twin Cities--and the Wedge is certainly no exception to this rule. more

Fantastic Food 8/19/2005

The Wedge Co-op is open to members and non members alike, offering healthy food options, including deliciously fresh produce. The deli serves up a nice selection of hot and cold items--handy for a quick lunch, dinner, or picnic. Their organic certification makes them unique among co-ops and health food stores. The staff is great--helpful and knowledgeable about the answers to many questions. The health and beauty department is great--packing a lot of great products into a small space, again with a knowledgeable staff to assist you. I highly recommend the pizza from the deli--it is fantastic! They offer many specials every month, which is a fun and less expensive way to try new foods or products. Very helpful for people with food allergies or food sensitivities, as they stock a variety of items that are not only organic, but have options that are free of some common food allergens. Also, products are well-labeled, to allow conscious choosing of food and products. Highly recommended. more

Time to get healthy 8/5/2005

Whenever I think of shopping for quality healthy groceries I think of the Wedge Community Co-op. This is a great spot for natural foods and this should be high on your list. Do not let the "we are better than you" attitude that you may receive there prevent you enjoying the variety of food selection that is there. This store has been around for multiple years and this mainly due to the selection available. Add it to your list. . more
