The Sunday Brunch Cruise was wonderful! 6/5/2009

Our family went on the Sunday brunch cruise on May 31, 2009 and had a wonderful time. We were on the Emerald Star and took our cruise from the Lake Union site. On our cruise, we saw numerous sea planes take off and land, Seattle's houseboat communities and houses that I still wouldn't be able to afford even if I won the lotto! All the sights were fascinating and the captain had wonderful facts and stories to share. One home had a dinosaur skeleton in it and of course we saw Bill Gate's home. Our children (ages 14 and 10) enjoyed every moment of the cruise. The food was wonderful too! The buffet had salmon, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, pastries, cheeses and french toast. There was definitely something for everyone! If you look up ""picky eater"" in the dictionary, there is a picture of our son. However, the food on the buffet was enough of a variety that he even found plenty to fill his plate. Our cruising day was beautiful and sunny, so we spent the majority of our time out on the open air deck or up in the area on the bow of the ship. However, the views during our meal, from the dining room, were just as wonderful and there is also a small indoor lounge on the top deck. We had a fabulous time with Waterways Cruises. I would recommend this experience for anyone who has guests coming into town or if you want a relaxing way to spend a Sunday. The views, food and experience were wonderful! Pros: Everything Cons: Can't think of any. more

Great Experience. 6/1/2009

We had a great time on the Sunday Brunch cruise (5/31/2009). The food was great and the service was outstanding. Everyone was very helpful. We took our 2 year old and 12 year old and both enjoyed it. Our 2 year old like the water and talking to the captain. Pros: Great service and pastries more

Sunset Dinner Cruise 6/1/2009

My wife and I took the Sunset Dinner Cruise on Fri 5/29/09. What a wonderful, relaxing evening!! We were pampered by attentive service, starting with the captain himself meeting us at the dock and welcoming us aboard. We could sit inside or out and there was plenty of freedom to walk about the entire boat during the trip. The cruise took us all around the lake and through the ""Cut"" over by the UW campus. There were the rich mansions of Medina to envy and all the while the captain shared stories about the area and the people who live there. One rich guy even has his own personal dinosaur skeleton on display in the main room of his house! And the food! It was hot and freshly prepared. The veggies were not overcooked, the beef dish had a rich gravy. The salmon was tender and moist - not overdone at all. Makes my mouth water just to remember it all. The bar offered a nice selection of drinks with bottled beers from light to dark. Quite a few people commented on how exceptional the wines were. All in all, it was a memorable evening and one that we look forward to repeating again with friends and family. Be sure to bring a camera because there are lots of great photo opportunities and you will want to be able to share the pictures with friends. Pros: Service, Food, Great cruise with interesting narration. more

Great Sightseeing Cruise 5/29/2009

The stories teh Captain told about all the sights we saw on this beautiful afternoon were interesting; the home baked breads, pretzels, and cookies were scrumptious; the crew was helpful and friendly. Best of all was the priice -- $21.95 for two hours; the best tour in town! We didn't have kids with us but they were charging only $8.95 for children. I'll bring my grandchildren next time. Pros: Great sights; interesting Captain's narration; teriffic food more
