Our family went on the Sunday brunch cruise on May 31, 2009 and had a wonderful time. We were on the Emerald Star and took our cruise from the Lake Union site. On our cruise, we saw numerous sea planes take off and land, Seattle's houseboat communities and houses that I still wouldn't be able to afford even if I won the lotto! All the sights were fascinating and the captain had wonderful facts and stories to share. One home had a dinosaur skeleton in it and of course we saw Bill Gate's home. Our children (ages 14 and 10) enjoyed every moment of the cruise.
The food was wonderful too! The buffet had salmon, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, pastries, cheeses and french toast. There was definitely something for everyone! If you look up ""picky eater"" in the dictionary, there is a picture of our son. However, the food on the buffet was enough of a variety that he even found plenty to fill his plate.
Our cruising day was beautiful and sunny, so we spent the majority of our time out on the open air deck or up in the area on the bow of the ship. However, the views during our meal, from the dining room, were just as wonderful and there is also a small indoor lounge on the top deck.
We had a fabulous time with Waterways Cruises. I would recommend this experience for anyone who has guests coming into town or if you want a relaxing way to spend a Sunday. The views, food and experience were wonderful!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Can't think of any.
