Check out Watermark (or other credit unions) for better interest rates on checking and savings accounts. A quick check today shows wamu's basic savings rate at .25% and Watermark's at .75%.
The only potential drawback is a small number of branches. However, since Watermark doesn't charge ATM fees, you can use wamu or other credit union ATMs with no fee. If you make frequent in-person deposits and need a branch, just be sure there's one nearby. The upside to fewer branches is that service is a bit more personal and very friendly.
Online bill paying is also free, and has been a huge time-saver for me.
