Unsavory character 4/2/2016

The only positive thing I can say is that Laurie Twarowski was an amazing ballet teacher who taught me to love ballet. Other than that I can honestly say I wish I had never studied here. The owner is unprofessional, untruthful, and downright mean. She caused my sister and many other girls to quit dancing altogether because of the things she said to them. more

My boys and I have finished our 2nd year at Waterford Dance Academy and our 1st recital. We love it there and are looking forward to our 3rd season. I knew my boys, ages 8 and 13, loved to dance but I was pleasantly surprised to see how much their dancing had improved as I watched them with awe at the Spring Recital. \r \r The teachers are professional, supportive and challenging. The students cheer each other on and are supportive. Waterford is a welcoming studio. more

Waterford is an amazing place to dance! I have 2 kids there, been going for the last 3 years. I can't say enough about the owner, the teaching staff, the facility, my kids fellow students, who are now the best of friends....They've had such a positive, uplifting experience and I am so glad we joined! The instruction is incomparable to where we were before. I understand the other reviewer below had a bad experience and I was there when it all went down (An older teen student was asked to leave for various reasons, which I know was a last resort, but totally necessary. I feel the need to defend the owner, it was completely justified and I actually applaud the fact that she cares so much about the attitudes and behaviors of the kids, and has zero tolerance for bullies) Anyway, you've really got to experience this place, your kids will LOVE it! YOU will love it!\r We love you, Miss Alyson!!! ;) more

Short Term Studio 2/2/2012

This insider is fed up with the unprofessionalism at this studio. The instructors are good, but the business is poorly run. You will be fine if you sign up, attend, and leave. Don't ask questions. Don't attempt discussions. Don't expect return phone calls. The owner can not stand to be questioned at any level, and she takes no input from anyone (not even her instructors). You'll love your first year. Just don't stay longer. more

Owner Message

  • Waterford Dance Academy, established in 2000, offers a traditional dance program serving Northern Lake County and Southern Wisconsin. Our professional, experienced dance instructors teach classes in creative dance, pre-ballet with tap, ballet, Pointe, tap, and jazz, lyrical, hip hop, musical theater, Irish clogging, WD Showstoppers (Glee sing and dance), and tumbling. We also offer private lessons in vocals or dance.

    Our goal is to teach students proper technique in a fun and positive atmosphere. We are a non-competing, traditional dance school. Students will develop discipline, good posture, grace, respect for others, good self esteem and gain a love and appreciation for the arts.

    Our classes are offered to students age 2 and up. Tuition is competitively priced, with family discounts, multiple class discounts and preschool-aged student discounts offered.

    For your convenience, we also sell tights and dance apparel and offer all styles of dance shoes to meet class requirements.. Dancing
