Every Sunday from 10 to 3 (don't quote me on those times) the Thai Temple offers a brunch. A brunch with the prospect of more food than any normal person could want in a single meal. The payment is conducted through a token system--for example, 7 tokens ($7) gets three food items and a drink (which is much more food than most people finish or care to eat in one sitting, despite the fact that the food is extremely delicious). If in Berkeley, a visit to the temple on a Sunday morning/early-afternoon is definitely in need. more

Thai Temple 3/29/2006

If you're ever in Berkeley on a Sunday, you should stop by the Thai Temple for Sunday brunch. It's great, tons of delicious home made Thai food, in an atmosphere that is utterly Berkeley. You buy everything with these little plastic coins, that cost $1 each. So a drink might be one coin, another three or four coins to get more food than you'll be able to finish. One thing I warn against: if you're not used to their style of ice tea, I don't recommend it, it's definitely an acquired taste. But otherwise the experience of eating there just can't be beat. more
