The Setting
The park includes the site of the historic town where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed, leading to the short-lived Texas Republic. Located on the Brazos River, the historic buildings and day-use recreational facilities provide much for visitors to do.
The Facility
The pecan grove near the river offers free picnic sites and two covered rental pavilions, which can be reserved. Large groups can rent a newly renovated Conference Center. For smaller groups, the park's Education Center is available.
