Great Bar, Terrible Kitchen 1/15/2007

The atmosphere in the bar is decent, but the food was horrendous. My fiance and I split the Prince Edward Island Mussels, and they were tasteless and bland. She then had the salmon, which was also extremely disappointing, and my stuffed pork chop was as tough as shoe leather. Maybe they can get it right on a weeknight when they're not as busy, but I'd avoid this place on the weekend or busy nights. All in all, the food was terrible and we were very disappointed. Maybe we're snobs after living in San Francisco, but this place is NOT worth the money. My search for great food in Denver continues... more

we spent the weekend in denver and had brunch on sunday before we left to back home to l.a. standard brunch food, but a little fancier than other places - we had two kinds of eggs benedict, blintzes, stuffed french toast, rissotto cakes, mini belgian waffles. they even had fresh fruit smoothies! everything was delicious, my favorite was the mini egg custard pie for dessert. we'd definitely come here again the next time we're in denver. more

Very lovely 1/4/2007

I went there on a date with my boyfriend and it was such a nice experience. The food was good and the wine even better. Our waiter was courteous but left us alone enough for it to feel romantic. I really enjoyed the atmosphere too...the lighting makes it perfect for dates. Pros: nice atmosphere, great wine more

Great atmosphere, food and service not great 12/6/2006

I met a friend for lunch on a nice day, and we were lucky enough to be seated outside on the small patio section. The setting couldn't have been more perfect. However, we both ordered salads, and they were very disappointing. The combination of flavors was not in the least complimentary, and there was even some lettuce that was a bit brown around the edges. The restaurant was busy, and our server paid us little attention. Innovative and a good happy hour! 11/28/2006

For you wine drinkers out there - Washington Park Grille has a great happy hour! Their food is so good and innovative. I love sitting on the patio during the summer. Ah, summer. This is a great summer restaurant! I'm sure it's great inside too, but it just so happens that we mostly go there during the warmer months because we love the patio. If you LOVE bad service.... 10/11/2006

Went there twice, both times the service was awful. Over an hour to get a sandwich, and had to remind the waitress of our order twice. They forgot to bring the Caesar salad, but not to charge for it. Pros: location Cons: Service more

Terrible service 9/29/2006

I've been to this Grille three times now. Twice for lunch and once for dinner and all three times I've been highly dissatisfied. Today I stopped in with a friend and ordered hamburgers - it took over an hour to finish lunch. Never did we get offered bread to stay the excessive wait nor was the food that exceptional to justify it. I won't be giving this place any more chances. I am a professional middle aged lady who loves to go out in Denver. I have been in Denver for 15 years. I eat out 3 times a week and this is my favorite place hands down. I live in Capital Hill area and have more than my share of places to go out, but the Washington Park Grille is out of this world!! The tuna is to die for... The wine list is the best... and the Mojitos are awesome. If you like to treat yourself and friends to a great place....This is it! Pros: ambience, winelist, food!! more

Got to love Wash Park! 1/26/2006

I know two servers that work there, and even if I didn't, I'd still go back. I went to their bar for my 21st birthday, and I had a wonderful time. It isn't loud and crowded like most bars, and the scene is good and clean. The Sunday brunch is excellent, and their Lobster Macaroni is to die for! Pros: Service, Scene, Music more

What a fun place....They have delicious food and a fun nightime ambiance...If you can get a table you can even play pool. This is a great place to have dinner on Sunday and Monday nights ...They have live jazz. more

Washington Park Grille is Wonderful 11/10/2005

I just moved to the Washington Park area from Seattle and though there are numerous fine dining restaurants in the neighborhood, I've found the Washington Park Grille to be suitable for every occassion. Their Sunday brunch is the best I've experienced with everything from homemade waffles and omelets to sushi. Also, I've been there a couple of times when they've had live music. One night, a jazz group during a romantic dinner and the next a great rock band for drinks after dinner. The service has proven excellent as well. Highly recommend. All around great place 8/18/2005

I read a couple of the negative or mediocre reviews on the grille and just had to comment. My wife and I bave been dining here for twelve years and always look forward to it. We eat here on average maybe five times a month. The service is excellent, the food is high quality and delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The best recommendation we can offer is that we have been frequent customers for twelve years. So either we're glutons for punishment, or they must be doing something right! We highly recommend the Grille. Pros: great atmosphere, great food, great service more
