The founders are very nice people. Very generous & very kind. I believe they are real & have genuine intentions. However, the staff at the Pasadena location are "Straight out of Compton" (so to say), they are scandalous, hateful, rude, and up to no good. They play favorites for sure and steal what they want from donations. I would not RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY. ALL WRONG DOINGS IS OBSCURED BY THE BIBLE BUT BEWARE IT IS ONLY A FACADE!!! I was there for 3 months. You can't have a boyfriend or talk to any guys even if they pay your support. You have to be in choir which they don't tell you about when you get there. Most of the girls drink and do drugs when they fundraise/solicit. Your out on the street for 7 hours and not allowed to buy anything except for one cup of coffee. Not even gum. Most of the girls are hardcore drug users that are homeless so their rules are very very strict. The dress code is knee length or longer, and you can't wear yoga pants. I was a big sister and they asked my little sister if she was wearing panties cause they don't allow you to wear thongs. If your tired and don't feel well they will not let you rest. It's a very intense cult like program. The staff seem so unhappy. If you ask them for help or just need to talk they will snap at you for bugging them. Mom is a very sweet lady. Sometimes I felt like I was going to go nuts here because when they need something simple done like cleaning up they make it a huge deal where everyone scurries around like frightened rats. The only thing that helped me stick it out was god. I love to worship and praise God but it became forced and I wasn't happy anymore. They staff likes to bully the girls and they think that their way is the right way because God says so. Like if you sign up for six months they try to get you to stay a year and tell you that you will not stay sober cause God wants you there longer. I couldn't stand it anymore. Everyone gossips and will smile in your face right after they say negative things about you, especially staff. They never cook protein here just carbs and old bread. If you ask for anything be ready to get yelled at and degraded. They made me feel like I was committing a murder for doing the smallest chores wrong or chewing gum. The rules change all the time and whenever they want. They use the girls really sad testimonies to get people to donate then they are mean to them after. They focus on their pasts too much and never talk about future goals outside the home. They stay in a bubble. That's why everyone's grouchy and gossiping because that's the only entertainment they get. Treated us like retards basically. more
