I bought the Freeport Lantern post and couldn't tell that it wasn't wood. High quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that gave me the New England look I wanted. Installation was straightforward. I was especially impressed by the additional supplies provided for installation that made the job a snap (silicone sealant, correct size drill bit for pilot holes and even touch up paint). more

Purchased an expensive post lantern in 2008. The door latch failed in 2011 and the door would not stay closed, (I think we had opened the door once or twice to replace the bulbs). Walpole Woodworkers informed us that they don't make the lantern and the vendor of the Lantern offers a one year warranty only. I believe that a company should stand behind the products it sells, even if the company is not the original manufacturer of the product. Obviously, Walpole Woodworkers believes otherwise more

Terrible experience with poor customer service. I paid for a ShadeFx for my pergola on Cape Cod. They were quick to take my money but had no idea what they were selling with multiple mistakes and starting over. Estimated time to complete was mid- May but it was finished in Mid-August. They were apologetic and offered me a gift card to make up for the incredible hassle, which I still haven't gotten in Mid-October. LOOK ELSEWHERE more

I am a landscape architect and have been in the business for 10+ years. In dealing with a number of fence suppliers I find Walpole fence to be the least reliable, least professional and one of the most costly fence suppliers. The sales force know almost nothing about what they are selling and what they do sell is of medium to low quality. You would be wise to shop elsewhere for your fencing needs. more

I've had a Walpole fence for twenty years. The installation was okay but they missed one of the town regulations and we had to redesign a corner. Since then I've had them repair the fence twice. About ten years ago they came and did some work, very hard to get them to come and to get the work done. This time we've had five visits, each time they've missed a piece of rot that needed replacing and/or they didn't do the work properly. The quality of complicated parts, like gates and arbors, has gone way down. Finally, this spring, I had our contractor look at the fence, he found many rotten spots Walpole had missed. I hired him to fix it because I can't stand the thought of pushing ahead with Walpole. The advertising is great, and the company once was great, but beware that it no longer is and dealing with Walpole is terrible. more

Pretty amazing company. They came out and showed me about 50 styles of standard fence that they make in their millwork shop. We bought their new Freeport Chestnut Hill picket fence. Cellular Vinyl painted Navaho White. They guarantee that it wont peel for 25 years. Nice people. No hard sell, no hassels. The co is 75 years old. I'd highly recommend them.///JC Medfield more

Walpole Woodworkers is a great place to go if you are doing any home remodeling and want to incoporate wood. I was redoing my bathroom and wanted a wood medicine cabinet. I went in to walpole woodworkers told them what I was looking for and they made me exactly what i wanted. Their service is second to none and their prices arent that much more then you would pay in a home depot for lesser quality. Overall Highly Reccomended. more
