No warm greeting when entered. I sensed more cold fancy restaurant attitude than friendly welcome.\r •Our table had the great view of the long Island Sound. I loved it.\r • The waiter did not seem to have the knowledge of what they had nor should he do.\r •The plate was too big for the flat and small oysters, and it looked like a kid put them on the plate. The middle plate in the middle needs a hair cut. The last plate?...speechless! It looked like a leftover from a party. \r •All food I had were tasteless, especially oysters were so flat and small for the price, clams were sandy, white wine was at room temperature, and tea and coffee were not hot enough. The waiter poured garlic pasta sauce on my bag and jacket, and the manager never showed up to apologize. (The manager was there in the back according to the waiter who came back 10 minutes later. Well, the restaurant was not busy at all; maybe only three tables including us were occupied. The staff need some serious training. ) I had to wash my bag in the mensroom. They did not seem to care about customers at all; definitely one of the worst restaurant experiences in New York area for me. \r •I will not go back there. The view is great, the water is great, the sand is great. However, the food cost is high while the quality is poor. Had a lobster roll there at lunch - the roll was stale, the lobster was just OK - probably left over from Labor Day. My friend had a Reuben sandwich which was soaked in grease and came with no sauerkraut! The Margaritas were delivered with little ants running around the foot of the glass - and the waitress never noticed! None in the glass, so I was grateful for that. Whatever this place could be, it has never become. Forced valet parking about 4 steps from your table because there is no street parking. However, the lot should be free if they want you to come in, especially during the week at lunch! Getting a waterview on LI is tough; getting good food is even tougher. seafood pasta is a no no, comes with a few pieces of seafood, taste bland., but the glass of Pinot and great view makes up for it. Gorgonzola salad is amazing so as their fried calamari. A bit pricey for sub par food taste. But will definitely come back for the view and for a quick swim. Food was good except both the Lobster Bisque and meal itself were not hot enough... whether this was a chef problem or the waitress delivering the food in a timely manner remains a question.. For a restaurant to have only one wine cork opener is unforgiveable...Had to wait 10 minutes for the wine to be opened. Waitress was blase, did not check if anything was needed at the table like the basics Water... additional beverages Etc... Pros: good tasting food Cons: service needs work, One wine cork for entire restaurant ?? food tepid more

This is bar-none one of the best dining experiences ever. The food is excellent, outdone only by the setting - you're essentially eating on the beach. more

this place will make you feel like you are on a vacation far away from the hustle and bustle of new york city! i went with my brother and his fiance this past saturday. we left the city at around 7 and got to the restaurant at 7:45 just in time to see the sun setting on the water. we had a long wait for our table, but it didnt bother us because we sat on the beach drank some cocktails and watched the fireworks that the locals were setting off. it was extremely pleasant just waiting to be seated. the staff was very friendly as well. once we were seated the food came right away...it was delicious! the steamers were supurb! the steamed lobster was good, not excellent, but good enough to enjoy. my brother's fiance got the fried jumbo shrimp and they were fabulous! the desserts were also above average. we got the hot molten chocolate cake and it was awesome...and the apple crisp was enjoyable as well. i really dont have anything bad to say about this place. i was relaxed and not stressed for the whole experience...once i got back to the city afterwards i was wishing i was back at the beach! i highly recommend this place to anyone who want to escape the city for a bit, great for couples, groups of friends and anyone else! i will definitely go back there before summers end! This is an excellent restaurant that just happens to be located directly on the water with a great view. The service is casual and friendly. The seafood is very fresh with both expected and creative dishes. The clams organato and chilean seabass was recentlyvery good, the latter prepared with fresh vegetables and chorizos. Those that had the meat dishes at our table said that they also were very good. \r It is out of the way and you would not know that it was there, down a small residential street. The beautiful view made me feel like I was on vacation. more
