Hi - Julie and her staff have helped me pick out gift books for kids many times. Julie amazes me with her knowledge and helpfulness. If I come in and say my son likes XYZ book by ABC author and I want some similar titles Julie will rattle off a mind-boggling string of names just off the top of her head and is completely articulate about how and why they would appeal to a certain age group or personality, and can show you exactly where in the store they are located. They will order titles that they don't stock on the shelves but seriously this is a very well stocked bookstore with books and more books and more books stuffed into every conceivable place. I love the feeling of going in there to browse, and I just love the place. more

Great Bookstore 3/27/2009

I've had such great experiences going to Wallace Books. No matter who is working I always feel welcome. They are happy to help me pick out book for gifts (only if I want help), and my niece and nephew have loved their recommendations. The atmosphere is cozy and they have new and used books. I love the relaxed vibe and that the staff knows their books! Pros: Staff, Selection, Location Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

For years now, I have asked Julie Wallace to select books as gifts for my grandchildren. The books have always been well received and recently my 15 year old granddaughter responded that the book I sent is now her new most favorite. And even though I have a ""to read"" stack of books at home, it is difficult to leave the store without making another purchase. more

Amazing service, inventory and atmosphere! 11/7/2005

Since it opened in about 1997 - Wallce Books has captured my heart and imagination. I have referred many readers and book store aficianados over the years who thank me repeatedly! Julie Wallace and her team are enthusiastic, in the know about the latest, and willing to go the extra mile to compile book lists, research gifts for a certain age or interest group, etc. I even ordered many of my graduate school titles through them. They are the best independent bookseller i know. more
