Normally I love my pharmacy. I never have a complaint. My medicines are always ready and the staff is super nice. When I have a question the Pharmicist will always stop what she is doing and give me a quick answer or if I have to wait, the wait is really short.\r

BUT recently my neurologist at Duke was sending in a new prescription. I alerted my pharmacy and I was standing by. I waited 24 hours called them and was told they still had not ""heard' from my Dr. I decided to give my Dr. another day just in case. I called the next day and still they hadnt "" heard' from my Dr. I then called my Dr. who assured me she had taken care of the prescription. I then called the pharmacy back. They assured me that they hadnt 'heard' anything from my Dr. Then they asked who my Dr. was. I told them. They told me that Duke was not that reliable and that I might have to make and appt and get a prescription in my hand. I was sorta shocked. I called my Dr. back and left a message saying how concerned I was because I was nearly out of medicine. Again this is a serious medicine. The next day ( 3 days since the first phone call to my Dr.) My Dr called once again and said she had reviewed her notes and sent the prescription is but wanted to confirm the pharmacy with me because they should have gotten the information 2 days ago. I confirmed the information. She said that she was sending the information as we were speaking but that if they didnt get it I would have to come in to get the prescription in my hand.\r

That is when it dawned on me.. they were waiting on a phone call and my Dr. was sending it electronically. I was livid!!! Everytime I called the pharmacy and asked them to please check on my prescription they literally were saying they hadnt ""HEARD"" from my Dr. I called my friend because I wasnt sure I would be able to hold a civil conversation. She pretended to be me to confirm that my prescription was there. I had always spoken to a female.. she spoke to a male. He confirmed that yes my prescription was there and then did apologize for the problem. He also confirmed that it had been there for DAYS. He was very nice and apologized but really?!?! 3 days of phone calls back and forth between my house, Duke and Walgreens is just uncalled for. And then to say that I would have to get into my car, and drive to Durham because Duke has an issue. \r

Of course I completely get that we all make mistakes.. but this mistake was made time after time.. I called a couple times a day and was told the same thing. Plus.. and I dont mean to make light of anyone's illness but this was a medicine prescribed by my neurologist. It wasnt a cream to rub on my elbow. Take a little time and look around.
Pros: Really nice
Cons: They dont check their work
