Second time this month this pharmacy has sold me prescription drugs it should not. First was my 13 year old son when they gave 2 drugs that do the same thing for his poisen ivy. Pharmacist apologized and refunded the money. Now last night even though my file is coded as being allergic to codeine and PCN, the pharmacist released amoxicillian. She 'counseled' my husband and he said I have never had hives or stopped breathing from it so she released it. Keep in mind that my husband has NEVER been around me when I have taken PCN. I was a child and had hives and my throat closed. THERE IS A REASON IT IS IN THE FILE AND WHOEVER IS PICKING UP A DRUG SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHANGE A NOTATED DRUG INTERACTION. Whether your pharmacist agrees or thinks that people say they are allergic when they are not, it is not up to her to decide if I have a true allergy. Her response is condescending and just plain ridiculous. They allow ANYONE picking up your prescription to change what is in your file as to what you are allergic to!!
