We live just two blocks from this Walgreens, and we have never gotten very good service there, but yesterday the store refused to fill a valid prescription for a pain medication for our child. The pharmacy tech and store manager both refused to tell us the pharmacist's name or let us speak with her. We called the corporate customer service line and got a call back today from the pharmacy manager, who confirmed that the prescription should have been filled and that the pharmacist WAS there and was available at the time of our call. He told us that the medication had already been filled and was waiting, and that it would cost $69... This is a $9 medication at nearly every major chain, and even CVS's price was half as much. Not even an offer of a coupon, and when we called the customer service line again, we got someone who could not speak English well enough to take our call. After finally getting another rep to speak with, we are supposed to be "expecting a call sometime around the middle of next week'. Aside from the lousy customer service, the general filthiness and disarray of the store, and the long, slow checkout lines, the fact that they have no problem making a child suffer needlessly is reason enough to avoid this store.
