Walgreen Drug Stores 24-Hr Prescription Service

I have been using Walgreen's drug stores in both Minnesota and Wisconsin for 10 years. The past 3 years the service has been horrible at all of them. If your getting anything but pain medication your probably fine but if it's pain medication your on, find a diffrent pharmacy. Both the Walgreen's in Eau Claire, WI. are terrible! They outright lie to you about your perscriptions. Yes I understand there are people out there who are drug addicts but not all of us that need pain medications are. Everytime i've needed a refill on my pain medication they have given me a hard time or just flat out lied to me about it. They tell you it can't be filled bc your insurance company wont allow it for so many days, like 30, 28, 23, 20, the amount of time changes everytime you go. If there is a problem with your perscription or your doctor changes it they do not inform you with a phone call or even a e-mail. My advice, find a diffrent pharmacy, if you don't believe me check out how to file a complaint against Walgreen's online. Yes, Walgreens is a big, national chain. Nevertheless, this outlet on Eau Claire's east side has always impressed me with its friendly service. There doesn't seem to be a lot of staff turnover -- which seems to be a problem in any chain business -- which may account for the small-town feel. The pharmacy service is quick and excellent, as is the photo developing. I've developed many rolls of specialty film here and I've never had a problem. There's also a wide range of inexpensive items, including greeting cards and seasonal candy. more
