Wake County Health Clinic

I was forced to come here due to a lapse in my health insurance. The prenatal clinic SUCKS...but the childrens clinic is awesome. The staff at the clinic is friendly and very professional and knowlegeable. I would compare the level of care to any major kids doctors office. \r \r God help you if you ever have to come here for prenatal care. You will sit for hours and they will keep calling on people who are clearly not there. . .Then they will shuffle you in, take your vitals,and send you right back to the lobby wait another hour. Yes, I said hour because you will sit and wait longer than you will actually be seen by practitioners. Then you will be seen by an ultrasound tech who has the personality of a door knob. There are actually some good staff here, but it seems the clinic is grossly overbooked and overpopulated, the way they handle patients. I developed gestrational diabetes so they transferred me to another facility that was a LOT better than this one.\r \r I know this place isnt the best but there are some great people here. This is a health clinic not a day spa. You get what you pay for, but this place actually doesn't suck. more

I was dreading the worst after reading Blue Crab Lover's ""GET YOUR EDUCATION"" review of the public health clinic. My experience was different. Upon arrival I asked Information where to go for my particular ailment. The line was the longest there. When it was my turn to speak to the receptionist, I signed and dated one piece of paper, took a seat, and pulled out my book, ready to wait. I had barely found my place when my name was called.\r \r I couldn't believe my eyes! I was in and out of the building in 15 minutes! I've never had service that fast at a family doctor with an appointment. Everyone was polite and congenial. And to think that I was putting it off. more

Get your education so you won't have to utilize any of their services. You don't want to be poor period. Not especially in Wake County. The WIC office is the worst I have ever seen. I have driven a family member there when she was pregnant and it is pretty bad. The government doesn't run anything efficient. Everything takes 5 times longer than the private sector. After seeing this place, I don't want any government run healhcare. Just provide the coverage and not the services. For your 8 oclock appointment you might get done by 12. Pros: low cost Cons: low cost service more
