Don't think even a prepaid reservation will be honored at Waiterock Kennel -- the staff might just give you a refund and tell you to find an alternate kennel. I guess they oversold and didn't have room for my dogs even though I had a prepaid reservation. On a holiday week, like Christmas or Thanksgiving or Easter, when you have nonrefundable airline tickets for the whole family, good luck finding an alternative. Better to reserve with a reliable kennel that honors reservations than to let Waiterock's misunderstanding of what a reservation means ruin your family vacation at the last minute. Oh, and check out their overkill vaccination policy, too -- they want you to superdrug your pet, contrary to veterinarian's recommendations. Yikes!!! Our dog who doesnt take much to other people actually loves going there. She is quite large and hard to handle so they always help me get her into my truck when I pick her up and she's all excited. Always friendly and my dogs love of going there shows that they take good care of the pets. more

I love this place. I call them early get my reservations in and they even call me if I am checking in on Weds. to tell me they close at noon that day so I'll remember! My dogs get lots of excercise and come back energized and they go there excited to be checked in! Regarding Mrs Waller's complaint: We would have happily honored her reservation but she refused to comply with our vaccine requirements which were made clear at the time she made the reservation three months before Thanksgiving. The shots have to be current for the safety of all boarding clients. Our vaccine requirements mirror the recommendations of the veterinary school at UC Davis. more
