It is really unbelieveable how fine the shave ice is at Waiola's. No other shave ice store can compare to theirs. I saw a documentary on Discovery channel or Learning channel once and there is actually some science to the way they make the ice so fine. I always get their Azuki Bean Shave Ice with condense milk. It is so good! With two locations, Waiola is usually filled with customers, esp. during the hot summer days. The stores are not the cleanest or the nicest (some may even say a hole in the wall). I usually have to sit on the curb side to enjoy my shave ice. I don't mind though because I'm already in Heaven =) more

Great Shave Ice 9/14/2005

Their super-fine and soft shave ice just melts in your mouth. They offer wonderful flavors such as haupia and coconut which are my favorite shave ice flavors. Waiola offers something for everyone, with many of the 35 flavors of syrup not found anywhere else. They also offer a variety of toppings and add ons such as li hing powder to mochi balls to condensed milk. With so much to choose from, there are literally hundreds of different combinations that one can try. more

Waiola Shave Ice 9/3/2005

This is definitely a local favorite. Waiola Shave Ice features many wonderful syrup flavors and toppings for you. One of my favorites is strawberry and lilikoi syrup with vanilla ice cream in the shaved ice. This is a local favorite, there is limited parking so be aware. Other toppings are condensed milk, azuki beans, and much more. more
