What more can I say? more

My daughter and I had our first class tonight. My daughter has never attended any class on her own yet so I asked the office attendant if I could join her until she was ready to be by herself and she said that was fine. She's almost 3 years old. The instructor was great. We were most of the way through our class when a lady came over and asked how old my child was. When I told her she said that my child was in the wrong class and was pretty rude about it. She then high-fived the child standing beside mine saying good for her because she was in class without her mommy. So the instructor came over to explain why she had divided the class the way she did but the lady didn't apologize or say anything besides that we were in the wrong class. I felt embarrassed because of the way I was treated so I took my daughter and left and have no plans to return. I found out this lady was the owner when I told the office attendant that we wouldn't be returning. I was really disappointed because I was a gymnast growing up and after spending so much time on the soccer field with my two sons, I was especially excited to be able to introduce my daughter to gymnastics. more

I don't know a lot about gnastics but I do know about business and the way these owners run this business is disgusting. None of the parents have a clue what is going on with their kids and the classes they are in. A few of us tried to approach the owners with questions and they said they do not make themselves available to parents for meetings unless you are a "team parent". I don't even know how kids get placed on the team and when I asked the business manager they didn't know either. I am a paying customer and deserve to understand what I'm paying for and have the right to ask any question I want concerning my kid. Don't waste your time or money here. You would surely regret it. more

I choose this gym because my daughters classmates are enrolled there. I sent several emails to the gym requesting information and did not receive any. When I went into the gym I was ignorEd by owners and could not locate any staff in the office. I asked a parent who the owner was and the woman refused to speak with us. She told us to send an email. Lol! I spoke with some parents who were there and one of them told me that a few girls were recently kicked out and they were currently looking for a new gym. The overall atmosphere is one of confusion and negativity. We will be looking elsewhere. more

My 8 year old took a gymnastics class at wake. She learned very little. She is strong and talented. When I asked about having her on the team, I was told she didn't have all the skills. When I asked what skills she needed the owner ignored me. We left wake and are much happier at superior. more

My daughter was on Wake's competitive team. Parents and gymnasts were not treated with respect there. The female owner dismissed and told parents that questions are not tolerated. She was quite rude to my child who loves gymnastics and worked very hard to please the coaches. Nothing she could do was right and in turn she decided to quit gymnastics at Wake. They wore her down emotionally or ignored her depending on how the female owner was feeling that day. I have heard things like are you stupid, that was horrible, are you retarted, you're not special, you need a psychiatrist being said to her gymnasts and daughters. The fact that the gymnasts are not spotted very much at all is a huge concern. The recreational coaches are young and very inexperienced. more

The only positive about the place is that it is very clean. My daughter had been at Wake for years. Each year it seemed to get worse. The owners do not care about anything besides progressing their own daughters. The owner/ coaches think it's okay to ignore, make fun of, crush the spirit of and degrade the gymnasts. This is not the atmosphere for positive reinforcement and they do not do well with gymnasts that are tentative or fearful. The coaches do not spot the girls much at all. It is dangerous and at some point something horrible is going to happen because of their negligence. Parents are not permitted to ask questions. I've seen multiple gymnasts get kicked out of wake because the parents had concerns or questions. We've moved to another nearby gym and it is so much better. more
