I walked in expecting to make an appointment, but luckily Mikey was available because his appointment was canceled. I explained to him what I wanted, showed him a picture, and he combined his own art with my vision. It turned out really beautifully and only took about 15 minutes because it was a small dove on my right hip. I expected it to be more painful, but it was an easy process, and all the guys who work there are really chill and friendly. Also, the pricing is GREAT! I thought I'd be paying closer to 100 or more bucks, but it was only 60. Plus I got a shirt out of it. I'd definitely recommend this place and I'm planning to go back soon for my second tat. This is a really good place to go if you've never gotten a tattoo before because these guys know what they're talking about, have experience, and walk you through each step of the way. I just got my first tattoo done this past weekend at Newport Tattoo. I had one of the best experiences there. First of all, since it was my first time getting a tattoo I was extremely nervous, but the artists there were so genuine and nice that I couldn't help but feel totally comfortable there. They were also really cool about fitting me in for a tattoo on such short notice. I came in there on a friday and told them what I wanted and that it needed to be done by Monday because i was only in Newport for the weekend. I figured it would be nearly impossible to fit me in because they are always pretty busy, but they scheduled me for Sunday evening. Kareem (shop owner) was the artist that did my tattoo. He is truly talented and I fully trusted his judgment when it came to my tattoo. It was exactly what I wanted. He made my experience comfortable and I don't plan on going anywhere else to get tattoos done. I definitely recommend them, all of the artists are amazing and experienced. Pros: Awesome location, experienced artists, professional atmosphere. Cons: Parking is a hassle. more

I just got Audrey Hepburn done on my left arm at Newport Tattoo by Kareem. He Nailed it! Its awesome. That was my fifth tatt done by Kareem and I dont think I'll go any where else. I just got my first tattoo here today by Chris. They were really friendly and drew out exactly how i wanted my tattoo even with all the specific details. Even though it was my first one, they made me feel really comfortable there. They make sure you are fine through the whole process. He talked to me through out the whole thing so it didn't even feel that long. He also didn't take that long but the tattoo still looked really nice, detailed and nicely shaded. The guys at Newport Tattoo were both friendly and professional. Chelsea put me at ease and made sure that I had eaten before we set about designing the tattoo. She took her time in making sure that I was happy with the design and colours, the other guys in the shop also took time to give their opinions before we proceeded. Chelsea made sure that I was comfortable and explained each part of the process as it happened. I also watched the other guys at work and was really impressed with the quality of their artwork too. Everything was awesome. The dude's were friendly and chill and they all had a great attitude and knew exactly what they were doing. Kareem gave my friend her first tat, and she absolutely loves it. He didn;t try to pressure her on where it should go or anything. Bruce did my tat, and he basically pulled the image out of my mind, drew it out and gave me my favorite tat so far. Justin also pierced my face and made me feel completely comfortable. I would definitely go there again. Plus Bruce had a nice tush. Actually all of them did. They were all nice eye candy while i had needles stuck through my wrist and lip. Job well done. more

I met Michael and told him I wanted my first tattoo. we sat down and talked about what I wanted. he drew something that totally exceeded my expectations. I was blown away with the work. It was better than i expected. It hurt, but it was worth it. I definetly recommend this place to anyone who wants a tattoo. Pros: friendly staff, clean environment. Cons: none more

I went in to Newport Tattoo to get a small flower on my back. Kareem did an amazing job making it look sooo realistic. Even though I was only getting something small, I was still treated like an important customer. I get compliments on my tattoo all the time. more

Thought of getting a tribal on my lower back. Asked the tattooist to copy an image from the internet. Not only he did not copy it right, he tattooed it off center!! I kept asking him to please make sure that it was right at the center, and he kept assuring me that it was. Not only the tattoo turned out off center, mundane and ugly, I have to spend $400 extra to work around it! Although the place I went to, outer limits, is very good and the tattooist did a FANTASTIC job trying to correct it and add something from his imagination, I'm still not happy because I spent waaaaaaaaaaay too much money for a simple lower back tribal, but also since the new tattooist did his best to make it centered, he had to make it thinker. I could still see the old ugly design that my old tattooist did(from newport beach), and I am so mad at him for messing this up for me. Especially that I've waited a long time to get a tattoo! I was very pleased with my experience with Newport Tattoo. Jake and all the other artist were very friendly and professional. Jake Underwood is a fantastic artist. I recommend him highly. He did an awesome job on a portrait of my kids. more
