So very disappointed right now. Would LOVE to speak to the owner of this place, because he/she would be ashamed to know they lost 3 families worth of customers over a $2.50....
Facts:
My family & I have been going there since it opened 7 years ago.
Convenient, cheap, & up until now, pretty good service.
Also, same manager I dealt with tonight, who knows my family & knows we have been going since they opened.
At least once a month for the last year, I have went by on my way home to buy 2 $2.50 cheese quesadillas and 2 chicken ones for my husband for dinner.
The cheese ones are never (by any stretch of the imagination) loaded in cheese or even has a ""lot"" of cheese, but regardless, on so many trips, they always had pretty much the same amount of cheese every time.
Situation:
Tonight I go and get it to bring it home, but when I open the package, both have literally less than half of what it normally has, so I called the manager (who always seemed to handle his business before) who puts me on hold, goes to talk to the cooks, they tell him they put the same as always. He tells me this. I tell him it is not normal and i keep sitting there waiting for an apology, an offer to give me two normal ones next time I come in, I mean Wendys and even McDonalds will do it, why shouldn't a sit down restaurant do the same, especially when I've been such a customer for so long. So it never comes, but instead, he asks me to bring the one I'm halfway through and the one that hasn't been eaten back up to show it to him...
So my husband gets off the phone and tells me the ""manager"" told him that he ""believes his cooks, and if i couldn't bring the other quesadilla up to show him how much cheese is in it, that he wouldn't even be able to give us credit for the TWO, but only for ONE.""
That is one cheap manager that can't even offer $5 to fix an issue.
SO in my disgusted angst, I drove back with quesadilla in hand, happy to show him his cooks just made him look like an idiot.
So I go in, introduce myself so he can see my face & know that he already knows we are regulars, he does recognize me & apologizes off the bat. After opening the wrapper, tearing it open to show him how there is a very thin layer of cheese inside, he ADMITS that is less than normal, and offers another one. I asked him did he mean two, since both were that way, and he told me, ""No, I can only give you one new quesadilla OR $2.50 for this one, SINCE I DIDN""T SEE THE OTHER ONE.......""
I just could not believe it. Who in their right mind that runs a business in these hard times, with so many businesses that open and fold within 2 or 3 short months, seriously doesn't care about keeping a customer over a dinky $2.50 ??
I explained to him that was not sufficient because they messed up two, and then instead of handling like normal restaurants, he forced me to get up from the middle of dinner to drive all the way back to PROVE the facts to him, and I told him if they could not do better than that, that we would not be going back.
He told me that was my choice.
So we will not be going back, and I will be telling everyone in my small town what a sorry manager runs Viva Mexico & that they better not DARE have any issues!!!!!!!
