Yuma's worst moving company 11/16/2011

I own a local quilt shop with retail fabric and quilting supplies. I also have 5 longarm professional quilting machines. We are building a new building that was not ready for us to move into at the time the City of Yuma decided to demolish the building and recloate the two businesses. The moving company that had been contracted to relocate us in the two weeks ahead were booked and could not move us in such short notice. This company was the only moving company in town that was available. I now know why. I hired my own men to move the quilting machines and the computers. The City hired Vista Moving. Yes they were cheaper but the condition of my business is horendous. I had some things going to the new building until I move there. The fabric, supplies and the racks they are on went to a temporary location. They were to pack, move and unpack. My manager asked them to unpack at the new location and she was told specificaly that they do not unpack. She called her daughter and grandson to help her unpack and straighten the fabrics and put the supplies up on the peg boards. When I heard of this I called Vista moving and was told they don't usually unpack but yes they were to unpack us and there had been a comunication error. No joke! They sent two men to the temporary location and they stayed ONE HOUR! That was a joke, three days later we were able to unpack. Some things were to go to the temp store but went to the new building instead. I have spent this week trying to get everything to where it suppose to go. The boxes of bobbins were sorted by size and color before they touched them and it took two people a full day to unpack and sort the 5 boxes of my merchandise. They were busy talking while they packed them. Everything except about 11 cabinets or desks are where they are to be located. One cutting table that I had PVC pipe fittings under as legs is on the floor and I have no idea where the fittings are but they are not under the cutting table. I will have to hire someone and most likely two or three people to straighten the new store and I expect it will take at least a week or maybe longer to get it sorted out. I had an antique dressing table with matching chest and an antique armoire that is scratched from the hand carts they moved them on. They had blankets to wrap them in stacked in the truck but they did not use them. As they unloaded them and the items I had stored that belonged to my father in construction (before he passed away) and his old juke box into a storage truck they didn't tilt the hand truck back enough and they dragged on the edges of their ramp. I mentioned this to them and the local manager but they acted as if I had not even spoken a word. The manager was arrogant in my opinion but the owner stopped by and was one of the nicest men I have ever dealt with. Too bad his employees aren't. The men talked about how they are ranked number one and move military all the time. Military families do not have as much things to move and do not go to two locations like I did but my items are as important to me as theirs are. The first day I was told they are there to pack not to be B****ed at. Maybe he needs a different line of work. Not everyone is happy to be in the circumstances they are in. I do not allow my employees to talk about religion or politics in my business and I sure don't expect to hear it from the moving company manager as he strolls in twice.\r \r more
