I have been to Virginias several times and have always had great service and great food. The fried fish is excellent! The view of the water is great too! They do get really busy so if you don't go early theres a long wait for a table. more

Great Food By The Sea 4/19/2008

Virginia's is located next to the marina where the boats bring in the freshly caught seafood each day. So this should tell you about their food - Fresh! Fish and more is served by friendly and efficient wait staff. We had fried Grouper sandwiches that overflowed their bread and were delicious. Besides seafood, they also serve burgers and such for the unadventuresome. Great drinks. Open windows to enjoy the sea breeze. Bustling at dinner time, with a short wait. more

A View With Great Food! 4/16/2008

Virginias On The Bay is one of THE best places to eat in Port Aransas. Situated right on the edge of the water, the view is beautiful no matter what time of day it is. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food is top notch. You must try the grouper sandwich! Can be crowded during high season. Come prepared to wait. But the wait is well worth it! more

Not What I Remembered 12/31/2007

I had always made Virginia's a regular stop when in Port A. The Bar and restaurant located on the water have always been a great spot to take friends. My latest experience was a notably different. At 7PM they were out of Oysters. The salad we were served was wilted and boring. In the heart of the shrimping area we ordered the $19 shrimp platter. It tasted as if the shrimp were frozen and what we were served was definetely ovepriced. My next trip to Port A will not include Viginia's. Pros: View of the water Cons: Food is poor and overpriced more

Go for the drinks and view, not the food 10/22/2007

I had big expectations for this restaurant. The view was fantastic, it sits right on the bay and you can watch the boats coming and going, but the food is not what I expected. I ordered the catch of the day (some kind of fish that I had never heard of) and it was almost not edibale, it was so over seasoned. The place was not even half full but out waitress was acting like she needed to get us outta there fast, but we just wanted to relax and enjoy the view. For the quality of the food the prices were very high, next time I go to Port A I will go back to Virginia's....but only for drinks at the bar, we will be eating somewhere else.
