My husband and I had the worst doctor-patient experiences with the Virginia Mason Medical Center and quickly realized that staying with the doctors in that practice could be dangerous to our lives and health. Flat out, the staff is always in a hurry and did not take the time to listen to our concerns or worries. One time, I was told that I had "too many things that I was asking them to do and that I would have to reschedule an appointment to finish up." Some simple problems that were overlooked or misdiagnosed... my husband's hypertension was not treated as the doctor said it was normal for young men to have fluctuations in blood pressure (the doctor we transferred to said my husband was in serious risk and put him on medication and a new diet immediately). A separate doctor there told us a broken toe and a broken ankle were "sprained." Mind you, they did no xrays or further investigation...when we questioned this and went to a specialist, we found that the ankle was broken in such a critical place that continuing to walk on it would cause permanent damage. A cast and physical therapy were then required. I could go on and tell you all the other issues, but I won't. Why we stayed with that practice for almost two years I do not know. But if I were you, I would not go to the doctors in this practice.
