Vip Car Rental

I always use VIP car rentals and have never had a problem. As you would expect for that price their cars are older than what you would get at the bigger companies. I have never booked either, just showed up picked the car I want and pay the money. We normally get a Minivan for about $300. I have always been happy with the cleanliness of the car and have never had one break down. more

I rented from this place on my last trip back home to Honolulu. The rates are very reasonable. I wasnt 25 then but i wasnt stuck with a ridiculous surcharge for my young age. definitely a plus. more

We had a choice- two day rental for over $100 (for an economy) from Dollar or $83 for a Chevy Tracker (yea, it was a stick, with 60k, one of the gears was a little funky) from VIP. more

I go to Waikiki all the time ( once a month ) and I love VIP Car Rental for many reasons. The service is great, one time my car stopped and I call the office and they came right out to help me. They are so nice that I will never forget to tell my friends about the best car rental service in Waikiki! more

I travel the world, my favorite place to visit has always been Waikiki. The best deal on a rent a car has got to be VIP CAR RENTAL in Waikiki. alarm!!!! everyone who wants rent a car there will know this is an absolutely wrong and stupid behavior!!! When I rent a car there, the man in front of desk told me nothing about the under 25 fee, insurance fee and others. And when I return the car on time, he told me I have to pay for another 40 dollars. Do you know what is this? I rent a jeep without roof. When I drive that car, it was rain on that day. Absolutely the car will get wet including the chairs. SO they told me I have to pay for that? OH my god!!! I cannot believe this. I refused to pay immedietely and that poor gay said that I can leave at that time. But when I return to my home, I suddenly found they charged me that kind of fee without my permittion!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that supid man who I have never been met before. DON'T RENT ANY CARS THERE!!!!!!! more

Highly not recommended. If it smells like fish, it probably is fish. I l am a former news reporter and now live in Hawaii. I called to ask questions before booking a weekly reservation. Right in the middle of me trying to ask the man about the terms and conditions (e.g. mileage limit, hidden fees, taxes) he pompously and rudely interupted me, as if I was taking too long, ""Ma'am, what's your question?"" I told him, ""I'm trying to ask."" Red flags flew up all over the place. He was defensive, as if he had something to hide (a hidden agenda), and had poor customer service. Why would I trust my credit card, money, or safety to someone who obviously doesn't think I'm worth the time? Horrible place, run by horrible people. You can barely understand the people that work there. We went to the one in Waikiki and were told that we could rent a car (we were younger than 21) with an extra fee, which we didn't mind. When we went in, they told us about all this hidden fees and how their insurance works....Oh boy! The guy in the front took our credit card and charged it without approval and the rate they were giving us in person was not the same as the one we were told over the phone. They were mean and unreliable. Make sure you know about their insurance because they have a rediculous deductable, and rate for it. You are bound to stay if you do perhaps get into an accident. We ended up never renting from them and used the bus. We were so pleased with the transportation system in Honolulu. The bus passes are 20.00 for 4 days and you probably don't need to buy one cuz everything is nearby. We met tons of great people and didn't have to worry about the hassles and responsibility that went with renting a car. Definately stay out of this place...The only reason we considered it was because they rented to 20 year olds. Oh and they have a bunch of really old and unreliable cars, nothing like Enterprise or any other big name rental places. Renters BEWARE!
