Cool Music, Funky Atmosphere 10/24/2007

I loved this funky little club. It's an intimate hole in the wall type atmosphere which I think is totally cool!! The bartenders were friendly and provided quick service. It's the kind of unpretentious place you can go to relax and listen to great music. Up and coming bands can have a space to sharpen their claws. I recently had the pleasure of hearing The Langour play an AWESOME 30 minute set. This band is going places!! Chris Sonnier (guitar, lead vocals) is a gifted, crowd pleasing, and unique frontman. Wesley Sweetapple (drums, vocals) is reminiscent of a young Keith Moon. His raw, hard hitting style makes it impossible to keep your eyes off of him. Brandon Boxx (bass, vocals) keeps the rhythm with a perfectly timed, well trained bass style. See this band in an intimate setting while you have the chance. The Vinyl is the perfect planting ground for young local bands to go from being obscure to legends. Pros: Very supportive of local music. Intimate setting. Cons: Expensive Parking more

Love this place. 6/1/2007

Vinyl as also in the same building as center stage (formerly earthlink live) and the loft. It is great for live music and has rock n roll ambiance. All kinds of bands play here, but primarilly rock acts dominate the playlists. The bartenders are nice and speedy and I have never been anything less than impressed with the service. The security is amazing. The location is in between 17th and 18th street on west peachtree and is convenient to I75 and I85 so the commute back home is made easier in the wee morning hours. There is underground parking, but i would suggest parking elsewhere around the venue as it will be MUCH cheaper. If money is no concern, then by all means make things easy for yourself and just park at the venues underground deck. Pros: atmosphere, great bartenders, great security, great parking options, next street down is a highway exit Cons: expensive parking at the venue. more
