The Vineyard Theater is a great place to see shows that often go to Broadway, such as "Avenue Q." Thus, you get to see a show at the ground level, in an intimate setting, before the buzz makes it impossible to get tickets. Productions are often directed by up-and-coming directors or established professionals who want to get back to their roots. This nonprofit theater often pushes the envelope by presenting challenging, often controversial, works that other theaters pass on. With that said, it is not the Fringe Festival or some other kind of completely avant garde theater experience. In short, a moving and provocative experience for a variety of audiences.
