Dr. Vincent LaBruna was born in New York City, where his father was also an Orthodontist. He graduated New York University Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa in 1982, and graduated New York University Dental School in 1986. He attended a Dental Externship at Memorial Sloan Kettering for Oral Cancers in 1985. He attended a post-graduate program in Endodontics from 1986 to 1987. He also attended Columbia University and obtained his certificate in Orthodontics in 1989. In 2005 he became a Board Certified Orthodontist with the American Board of Orthodontics.
He has served as an Honorary Police Surgeon with the New York City Police Department. He is also an Honorary Medical Officer with the FDNY. Beginning in 1992 Vincent has worked with the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in New York City in their Dental Forensic Unit and the Anti-Mortem team which included service during 9/11/2001 and Flight 587 in November 2001 and the recovery efforts afterwards with the Red Cross.
