At one point, this is a sister property to Vintage Inn. I'm not sure if it still is, it's been a while since I've been there. From what I remember, the spa was located here, so it...

This place was horrible! 9/19/2006

One of my best friends has stage four cancer and it's been really hard to digest. Plus, I have my own house on the market and I work from home. I needed a place to get away and just relax. My favorite place was booked today so I looked up a place close by: Villagio Hotel and Spa. That was my first mistake. I arrived around noon for a 3pm massage so that I could have lunch and relax by the pool. I was told that as a spa guest, and not a hotel guest that I would have to drive around to the back and that lunch from the Room Service menu could be served there. I did so. The entrance that I was directed to was locked. So, with my bags over my shoulders (you have to bring toiletries, etc.) I walked around the property until I found an entrance to the spa. Upon arrival, I found that four salads were served at the spa pool and that if I wanted something else that I would have to walk back to the main entrance, where the restaurant was. So, I did that. Once arriving at the "restaurant" I found that the same four salads that were served at the spa pool were also the same items on that menu and the server told me that they didn't even have a kitchen which was why they only offered salads. I finally just ordered a salad and sat down. Once my salad arrived, I was surrounded by yellow jackets. I ate it quickly and brought my plate inside before I got stung. Then, walked back to the spa to enjoy a relaxing hour or two at the spa pool. HAH! The spa pool is on Highway 29. It was really noisy. I tried to pretend like it was the ocean. I mean, after all, I was there and I was going to make the best of it. The fountain and the music that they had there to drown out the noise of the highway only made it noisier. Just when I thought that I could relax anyway, they started up the lawn mowers. Yeah, nothing like a lawn mower about four feet from your head to spell relaxation. Then I got up to use the bathroom only to find that there was broken glass all over the ground, which was now imbedded in my feet. When I went inside to tell them about it, one of the girls said, "Oh, that must be the glass table that broke yesterday..." Fantastic! I went back to the front desk, told them that this visit was over. I will never go back. Waste of time and money. And it was really expensive too! ($35 for a salad and a glass of wine.) There are PLENTY of places to go. Don't go here. more

Editorial
  • Sprawled across 23 gorgeous acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, cobblestone courtyards, trickling fountains and blossoming trees, this Mediterranean-style retreat might be centered in Wine Country's quaint village of Yountville, but you'll swear you've just escaped to a secret hideaway in Tuscany. Looking more like a living room than a lobby, the main entrance welcomes visitors with its vaulted ceiling, soaring floral arrangements, stone fireplace and cushy chairs arranged on Italian marble floors. There's also a bar and indoor/outdoor dining area where guests can enjoy the complimentary Champagne breakfast buffet and afternoon tea. Beyond the hedge-lined gated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi area--replete with chaise lounges, covered cabanas and cushioned sofas--are the impeccably maintained pathways that lead to the spacious rooms housed within Italian cluster-style architecture. The 112 guestrooms were completely renovated in late 2007 and feature private patios or balconies, wood-burning fireplaces, down comforters, oversized bathtubs, dual sinks and luxurious robes and toiletries. As if that weren't enough, patrons are treated to a free bottle of wine upon checking in and can indulge in supreme pampering at the lavish Spa Villagio. Truly, it doesn't get much better than this.
