Village West Shell

I've been with Village Auto since the beginning long before Short Pump became what it is. My family has had 12 cars serviced there and for the most part I have always felt confident and trusted them. Just recently (May 2013) I took my car in for inspection and later found they had left a nick on my windshield tint, a small nick that over time would only grow larger. I contacted my tinter and there is no way to fix or patch window tint, it has to be completely replaced. Stripping and retinting a windshield alone runs $180-200, normally if it wasn't a retint it would be $100-120. I am disheartened that when I confronted them they took and no responsibility and more or less told me "too bad so sad". I am now stuck with a tacky looking piece of window tint film that is hanging and they will not take responsibility for it. I'm sad/irritated that a mechanic shop I trusted for years and have done tons of business with would treat me like this and not accept responsibility where they screwed up. more

I recently took a car to get inspected. There was a wait so I expected the service to be good. When my car finally was inspected I was told that my brakes were bad (I had just replaced them) and that bulbs in the back were blown. The amount of money that they wanted to replace the bulbs and than the dialogue on my brakes. I quickly left and went to Firestone in Innsbrook and passed inspection with no problem. more

Whenever I have car trouble (and I've been through a lot of cars, we buy old ones) I take my car straight to Village West -- they have never been dishonest with me about cost or problems -- often when I have a problem I might think it's something huge and expensive but they will find a way to fix it inexpensively -- There is often a wait because they're pretty popular -- but I just come in first thing in the morning and wait for the car and they always get it done by lunch time (faster when I have my kids with me!) more
