I've been with Village Auto since the beginning long before Short Pump became what it is. My family has had 12 cars serviced there and for the most part I have always felt confident and trusted them. Just recently (May 2013) I took my car in for inspection and later found they had left a nick on my windshield tint, a small nick that over time would only grow larger. I contacted my tinter and there is no way to fix or patch window tint, it has to be completely replaced. Stripping and retinting a windshield alone runs $180-200, normally if it wasn't a retint it would be $100-120. I am disheartened that when I confronted them they took and no responsibility and more or less told me "too bad so sad". I am now stuck with a tacky looking piece of window tint film that is hanging and they will not take responsibility for it. I'm sad/irritated that a mechanic shop I trusted for years and have done tons of business with would treat me like this and not accept responsibility where they screwed up.
