very angry and disappointed 3/8/2008

My first visit to Village Vet was quite pleasant. However, after that I thought I was in a nightmare. I took my puppy to get shots, a stool analysis and because she had a cough. I never saw the vet, only the technician, my puppy was taken to the back without me. That same night, she started throwing up. She could not even hold water down. I immediately called and wanted to make an appointment. The technician said I don't need to come in, it will all run its course and not to worry. I begged to make an appointment but they flat out refused. After she would not stop throwing up and seemed sad and sick, I took her to another vet. He then diagnosed my dog with coccilosis and kennel cough, both very serious conditions that can be fatal in young small puppies if untreated. Also, she had worms. I then called Village Vet to get my money for the stool analysis back since they obviously did not perform this service. They stated they did the test and I can have store credit. I do not feel comfortable bringing my dog back to this place so I don't want to have credit, but my money back. For all the other services, I do not mind paying, only the one they obviously did not do. Also, they gave me a heart worm pill that was 4 years expired and when I told them they laughed about it saying "good thing you didn't use it". They could not find a worm pill in the whole place that was not expired. I am so mad and disappointed and can only suggest noone take their pets to this vet. more

PLEASE reconsider !!! 1/30/2008

Very nice people but, I would not take any animal there that is part of my family. Getting charged 400 bucks for services that never happened is not an honest way to make a living. The staff is friendly enough but keep in mind that the Dr.s are going for the gold (your gold). Pros: The Employees are very knowledgeable Cons: The way pricing and billing work you get reamed. more

  • Where You Go When It Matters Our doctors and staff offer affectionate and conscientious care at the same quality we would want our own pets to receive. We are a full service veterinary hospital, treating dogs and cats, as well as exotics, such as ferrets, birds, snakes, reptiles, amphibians and fishMeet the Business OwnerBusiness owner informationPhoto of Mark S.Mark S.Business OwnerDr. Setser is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with degrees in veterinary medicine and pharmacology. He provides care for all kinds of animals, from domestic to exotics. That includes dogs, cats, hermit crabs, taranchulas, fish, peacocks, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pigs, non-domestic cats, chinchillas. rats, hedge hogs, reptiles, lizards, pet birds, non-domestic birds, hawks, falcons, eagles, swans, geese, ducks, ostriches, emus, rheas, you name it.My specialty is older pets and allergy pets, says Dr. Setser. Typically your dog itches himself bald, these are sometimes called summer allergies and they can be controlled. Each pet is different. We customize safe allergy medications. We also see alot of dogs who are brought in to be put to sleep because their owners say the pet can't get up anymore. In many cases we save the pet with a simple oral medication. Older pets just need special care and can be salvageable.
